How to cry part 2: - go through RDR 2 Game files - find cut gameplay mechanics and animations - find cut dialog which reinforces the theory of rewrites - realise that all of the unused content is just from the release version - think about how much is ACTUALLY cut from multiple builds of the game as a whole

Some things are best not possibly spoiled by a -possible- failure sequel. If the story's been told and so on. This was for sure a masterpiece of a game. I realize your comment's a year old btw. But still. That's how good this game is. I hope Rockstar finds some other unproven time period to look at. This was so great and human. Maybe another crack at LA Noire's time period. And that was also a damn good game, perfect Noire detective game.

There is so much more to it than "just don't trust the Government". That's a very minor moral of the big picture. In fact there's so many facets of the human condition present in the game that it is nearly impossible to choose one main message from it all. It's a message about love of family, about redemption, about morality and good vs. bad, about betrayal, about retribution... the list goes on and on. Personally I think it is the only story I've ever come across that touches upon so many bases and hits as hard as it does. And I don't think it will ever be matched again. It's truly one of those timeless stories that only comes around once in a lifetime.

After the end of RDR2 and with all the pieces of the history together now...I just have to thank rockstar. For me Red dead redemption is the best video game series ever created. Arthur Morgan and John Marston were the greatest protagonists that ever existed in a video game. Dead's Man Gun is a perfect music for a ending ,this means all that John and Arthur did, they protect their love one's no matter what, even that means had to dead for it, in the end they did it.

Yeah, I see people write under every RDR video that their efforts were in vain since Jack ends up becoming a gunslinger, but honestly I don't agree at all. We fight for every day on this earth and both John and Arthur sacrificed everything they had to give their loved ones the opportunity to see the rising sun, even if just for one more day. They both succeeded in their mission and now they can rest easy.

I'd agree but I think that point of view overlooks the dishonest and manipulative way that Ross made John do his dirty work. The more popular (and maybe more obvious) interpretation of the theme of the story is that your past always catches up with you, and that often authority is almost as bad as the criminals they're supposedly against. The latter is a recurring theme throughout the entire game. I wouldn't say it's "wrong" that John was the bad guy, I just think it's a lot more complicated

At the end when Jack is taking revenge, Ross' wife explains that Ross, himself, was pretty much in the same predicament as John was with how his own higher ups would never leave him alone with more work he has to do, whether he wants to or not. I would think that is reflected in how he treats John. It's probably an equalizer for him.

I know it's fiction but I couldn't imagine being Jack in this situation. Probably having restless nights just thinking about everything that happened on the farm. I felt the same way in RDR2 when Abigail and Jack left John alone for a good while, he must've had restless nights just thinking about them. I really hope part 1 can someday be remade with the new graphics engine, I know they would pull it off brilliantly.

Not even just the farm. Jack is by far the most tragic character of this whole story. Ever since his early childhood days he was exposed to a life of impending danger, violence, death and so on. He saw everyone close to him either change and disappear or die. He never got to enjoy a normal life and pretty much had everything taken away from him. He's all alone and the last thing that felt familiar to him, the old west is now also gone and he has to cope being all by himself in a new unfamiliar cold world. I couldn't possibly fathom how much pain he's bottled up inside him.

Genuinely one of the richest experiences of all time. Then I decided to buy RDR, and boy that game's story was so much darker, filled with so much pain, malice, hatred, love, and sacrifice. I cried when Arthur died, but it almost felt like a piece of my soul was taken when John met his grizzly fate. What an absolute masterpiece.

I remember being puzzled by the somber piano music in the game's opening sequence, but when I heard 4:15 kick in, it all made sense to me. Man, it really hit me in the feels, real intricate use of music on R*'s part.
@leonecartelreborn9628
@leonecartelreborn9628 2 жыл бұрын
I suppose the somber piano in the beginning of the game mixed with the visuals of the cutscene playing are supposed to showcase the inevitable collapse of an old age. The Wild West is nearly tamed and industrialisation is progressing at a rapid pace. And also the tune kind of gives you the feeling of impending doom, of that exact inevitability that something is going to happen. And then it all comes full circle once it plays again in the credits and it really hits you. The second time is more of a goodbye. Rockstar kind of did the same with "See the Fire in Your Eyes". First time you hear that theme it's hopeful and optimistic, but once you beat the game and hear it once again it delivers a somber and empty feeling.

The piano cover of Exodus in America is so hauntingly beautiful, & the whole credits sequence for me is as big a part of the game as the main missions and incredible characters, hearing deadmans gun after avenging John was one of the most profound, somber, beautiful moments not just in gaming but the medium of entertainment as a whole. And somehow with RDR2 rockstar are going to redefine the gaming industry once again and blow peoples expectations out of the water. But this game & this credit sequence will always be up there as one of the best experiences of my life. Apologies for the long ass paragraph but fuck, this game means alot to me. Outlaws till the end

lmao george couldn’t agree more. I’ve never been a huge gamer, but I was hooked on red dead redemption from day one. My most recent time playing through, I decided to watch the credits, and my oh my it was the icing on the cake. The cover of Exodus in America in relation to John Marston and the dying west sent chills up my spine, simply a master piece that will never be replicated.

4:16 this song gives you more feels after you played the 2nd game it’s heart breaking. Yes, you played as outlaws, AKA “Bad People”, but outlaws who had story, character, and understandable motives and weren’t just people who went guns blazing at everyone just because they felt like it. It also made you motivated to want too keep the gang together and keep them alive even if it was a prequel to the first game and if you knew what was to unfortunately come of them all.

Don't get me wrong GTA is great but i feel like its been done to death, Rockstar should explore new possibilities just like Naughty Dog, there were many requests for Jak IV but Naughty Dog refused to make it saying they want to make more mature stories and they are exploring other opportunities, Rockstar is a very talented studio i'd hate to see them waste more time on GTA. Red Dead Redemption was perfect and it made me believe in Rockstar again after that failure of a game (GTA IV) which i hated.

I think the reason why the piano piece was put in at the end was yo kinda show the ending of an era. it kinda is sad but it has a meaning that you can kinda of tell if you analyze that this was the ending of the old west. So I think thats why they added the song in the ending credits to kinda bid farewell and pay homage to the Old west for what it was, and the people and history that has been forgotten from it. granted RDR was fictional but it showed some of the true west...

Nanashi Gravenhorst dude, chill, he never said that piano was just played in older times, he meant that it's just to give the feels, but it also serves to say that it's not only the ending of the Marston's story, but also the ending era of the old west (old wild cowboy west), so the sad piano song (exodus in America) is to say farewell, in fact, the whole game revolves around the ending of the old west era, really... I don't know how you didn't understood him/her...

I decided to have the credits run in the background while I was doing another task on my computer and when I heard it, I admit it fucked with my emotions quite badly.
