Almost a year now. Still pretty fucking depressing. Like others have said, I wish he would have made another choice but what's done is done. I still have a red fork ammo sticker I got when I ordered the red fork ez2c targets which I've only used a few of. It'll always remind me that dreams can be exciting, but they can also fail. It will also remind me that ending it all is never the answer, no matter how shitty it gets. I hope the few people that will ever see this video in the future realise that as well, suicide isn't the answer. I miss Rich.

I'm a very young man. I have struggled with unemployment over the past few years, struggled with life problems, and some major depression. Just recently, I found employment at a shooting range, and everything has been going uphill hard straight from there. I'm working up to becoming an armorer and hoping to work for the range in such a capacity. I've been studying and scheduling for classes and expanding my skillset for it, and work has been fantastic - and only getting better. I found this channel doing that, and as with so many other amazing people, was so god damned fucking grateful and enthusiastic to watch this gentleman's videos. I learned from them. I got better from them. I apply it to my work, and am doing better work because of channels like this. And then I finally clicked on this video, saw the comments, and realized that this man is dead. And watching this now just breaks my fucking heart. There's no words to say about it - I just...I just wanted to make this post because this hurts, and it hurts that a complete stranger who I never met helped me out so much and that I'll never be able to thank them for it, and that they'll never know that that helped someone in a bad place change their whole life around. I'm an atheist. I genuinely don't believe in an afterlife. But Christ, if there's even a minuscule chance that this man could somehow know, I hope he'd know that he helped me, and I'm damned sorry he was pressured into a breaking point. Condolences to his family, and I'll remember him.

OK just found this video and found this channel yesterday I agree suicide is never the answer, however as a veteran of military I also understand what can cause someone to kill themselves. sorry for the loss, it's never easy. for those making bad remarks and stupid stuff you are dumb. to his wife and kid left behind I know it's two years after the fact but his other KZbin videos are still impacting lives. I don't know his personal life and how he treated you guys but we all can learn from both the good and the bad of this man's life. I had one of my mom's 2nd cousins who she was close to that lived with a disease that brought on excruciating pain that no amount of medication would work and lived that way for 20+ years. I say this because that pain is eventually what drove him to suicide. in most cases I know there are signs that hardly anyone picks up on until after the fact. so for those that are judgemental you simply don't know. RIP my friend.

semperfi 1918 Yah i know exactly what you mean. I used to think how weak it was to do something like that. Then i retired and became a vet... Suddenly post military depression kicked in hard. It's such an odd thing aint it? All of us go through it. (I'm fine now btw) i think its the stripping of your identity. One moment you're superman. You have a name rank, position, family... purpose. The next minute, you're back to average joe lol. It definitely scared me though, when i started to understand why a vet does it. All of a sudden it made sense.

I know where he's coming from. Tried the gun business long ago. Got screwed in all directions and the stress caused a sevear case of jaundice and i ended up being sick for the greater part of a year and nearly died from it. I still do a few things in the gun industry but only on a very small individual scale and am happy to stay small scale. It's an extremely cut throat industry. You can not appreciate how cut throat it is until you experience it for yourself. Guys like him get caught in the middle and end up taking the bulk of punishment. I can almost guarantee you that it wasn't failure but the stress that pushed him over the edge. The saddest part to me is that he was basically tortured to death and only saw missery and suffering for the last part of his life. Poor fellow.

@steve meador If someone’s life if filled with so much suffering that suicide is the only option they feel is left to them, then telling them how precious they are or how much they mean to you will not help them in the least. Unless you are willing to literally put them first and do everything within your power to change their life and/or circumstances to the point that they feel their life is bearable, then you won’t be of any help to them. The reason people who commit suicide don’t tell someone else is because they know that that person will try to talk them out of it, yet won’t give them a solution for their problem. People who kill themselves can’t find a solution, otherwise they wouldn’t be suicidal in the first place. They need actions, not words.

Takes balls to go big. You went big. I've been there, I've started businesses that have died hard. I've started businesses that have died slow and soft. I've been poor, I've had money. I am starting another business the slow way at the moment, so I am poor again. Each disaster is a lesson. There is no such thing as an overnight success. If you go look at the most successful businessmen and women, you will find some harsh lessons behind them in the form of failures. In fact, there is no success without failure first. It takes years and years of work to have an overnight success. America is the place to fail until you get it right, it's one of the greatest thing about this country. +Ferris Kerr how on earth does that come out as trying to shame him? 12 years ago we had a child. I'm angry he didn't reach out before Taking his life, so I'm selfish at best for thinking I could have helped and his son has been hurting over this. I am grateful that his parents and brother now know my son. Pretty sure nothing I've said makes me a cunt as someone else stated or like I'm shaming him. But this can be used to show how suicide creates a ripple effect of pain and hurt for those who knew the person who took their life.

Virgil Greyson I hate to hear that. I've watched a lot of his videos, and he's a legit guy. That really sick to hear, and things like this is why I'm a bit misanthropic. People are shitty in general, and only care about themselves.

Unrealistic Daydream He was survived by his parents, his ex-wife and a son apparently. It is truly unacceptable to leave a child behind in such a manner. Suicide is a very selfish action, and something only the surviving family must live with the consequences of. Hopefully people can see this, and read the comments left by Rich's wife, and see just how much pain it can cause. She is still leaving comments to this day, screaming at a dead man for this terrible decision.

I find it incredible that people are so heartless and idiotic as to call someone who commited suicide selfish. So someone is so freaking wrecked they are ready to kill themselves because they can't go on and they should have the strength to think about others?? Since you are telling him he should have thought of others, how about you try to put yourselves in his position? And its a nice idea to say suicide isn't the answer but again, its easy for you to say when you aren't in his position and you aren't the ones who feel like you can't take another day. Don't get me wrong, I wish everyone in his position would seek help and I think that help might make them see a way through. It just seems so ignorant when people say these things and blame someone who was distressed and depressed enough to resort to killing himself.

I'm sorry bro. This shit sucks! But unfortunately this day and age does not always beget success to those of honor and virtue. It's weak... I'm in the same boat. Just keep on movin'.

The man admitted he was weak and hopeless... Did no one reach out? Suicide is cowardly, but someone could've been encouraging and supportive so he might have found some will to live. Now I read he left a son behind, how selfish can you get. I've struggled since the day of my discharge and have had to live like a parasite off the people that care (very few). However, suicide had never crossed my mind. You keep going, working, striving to be what you want. 10 years of suffering and I won't give up, partly because there are people that would be effected by my passing and that doesn't sit well with my soul. To leave others in perpetual misery because you have a temporary problem. What a shame.

You coward! Did you even think about your son before you pulled the trigger? I'm so angry you chose not to be in his life and left me to pick up the pieces. You didn't even mention him in your suicide note. I'm mad, angry, sad, and I hate you for not picking up the phone. You had more to live for then some stupid shop or ammo. You have/had a child. I had to learn about this from a phone call 2 weeks after the fact?
