Happiness is not so simple as engaging in things that make you happy. There is always a cost for these things and inevitably you have to pay for it with hard work or misery. The key to happiness is found when we seek MORE than happiness. We must also seek satisfaction in our trials and tribulations as individuals, which are anything but happy or pleasurable. that sense of satisfaction at having completed a difficult task is nessecery for a well rounded psyche.

For as long as I could remember, I always kinda leaned towards the grouchy characters. Oscar the Grouch was my first comedic influence because I liked the fact that he told it like it was. Donald Duck became another comedic influence of mine. And then at the age of 9 when this show came out, Red Forman became my third comedic influence, beating Squidward Tentacles to the punch by at least a year. Red also shared some striking parallels with my late grandfather, although I never heard him cuss a day in my life and he (like Red) was also in the Navy during the Korean War.
