A lot of things probably would have been for the better if the series had ended after this season. While the actual ending taking place at new years eve 1979 is poetically appropriate, the rest of the seasons really struggled to keep going. If they had written out Red's heart attack, a lot of great things might've been kept, left on a high note or at least left ambigiously open.

Eric was the favorite child...she had trouble with her son growing up. Such as when she learned he was having sex. She was depressed in bed. She felt better when Eric said that he would always need her because of Red. Kitty believed in a sense that she was losing her son since Donna would be taking care of him. There's also the fact that Eric was so young....so Kitty may not felt he was ready. Red approving of it made Kitty even more upset...I mean when Donna and Eric were looking for places that had a washer and dryer.. Eric was saying stuff that made the implication he wasn't going to visit or come home. ' Think about how Kitty was feeling when he said this...any mother would be upset. It's more she wants her son to come home...and he's basically saying he wouldn't. And she took this out on Red due to the blessing her gave them...it's hard to let go that's what I think the problem was for Kitty. Since Laurie was the town slut and the unfavorite child for Kitty. She didn't really care at al about her because she knw the truth about her daughter. Even called her out on it. So Eric was more the 'good child' that could do nothing wrong in Kitty's mind maybe. And being her youngest child didn't help either since it was her 'baby boy'...
@K1ng19953 жыл бұрын
@@SashGirl34 plus in that episode where she finds out Eric and Donna were having sex, Eric tells her that Red is being meaner than normal and she replied with "You really rub him the wrong way" so maybe she yelled at Red for being so hard on Eric essentially pushing him away, and for Laurie being the way she was because she was Red's favorite.
