All that being said, it's a blessing that Josh Klinghoffer is now a member bringing new life to this already amazing band. It's remarkable how RHCP is able to stay relevant after all these years, all the lineup changes, and ups and downs each member has had individually. Many of these B sides rank among my favorite RHCP tracks, ever. After hearing IWY, I definitely didn't think I'd be saying that. I liked IWY, but some of these B sides (not so much Pink As Floyd) are incredible. They still retain that RHCP flavor while hitting on so many different genres and new sounds. As a music fan, if you're stuck in the past, you have those albums to listen to. Me, I'm excited for the future growth of RHCP!

Cristian Guerra I love Pink Floyd, but them, Zep, Beatles, Stones, etc. were pretty much part of mainstream “classic” rock, and alternative basically formed out of punk rock which was like the opposite of mainstream classic rock. It was formed as an answer and literal “alternative” to listening to big, industry-backed mainstream rock. You’re not wrong for having an opinion though, they are incredibly influential and probably did influence a few alt rock bands. Personally I’d say The Velvet Underground is/was the most influential band on alternative rock

The way I understood is that most of their B-sides are basically songs that were voted out. I remember an article saying that the band recorded like 30 songs for IWY and only certain ones were put on the album. Same with SA; John interviewed saying they recorded enough for three albums, but some weren't voted in.

it's incredible how few people give the credit that Josh deserves. how can you say josh has passion but cant hit a solo. a solo is a guitar player putting his love into his guitar all eyes on him all ears on his notes. john frusciantes solos touched everyones hearts and made tears fall from so many cause the pure raw emotion is unequivical, esecially from an average guitarist like josh.
