Their early years idealized the LA punk funk scene and their album Blood Sugar Sex Magic, a fantastic album, broke through to the mainstream, and since then they’ve taken on a more alternative sound but still as fresh as ever. Their new album is coming out soon

You know Red Hot Chili Peppers really created their own unique sound and vibe. They didn't chase anyone on the radio - they set their own path with their own music their own way. Made them one of my favorite bands of the 90s. To me, this video is just a play on some general themes like maybe some escaped criminals injured driving thru the desert without a destination in mind. Just creates a mysterious backdrop to the amazing music and lyrics of this song. I don't think the video is a step-by-step explanation of the song - but it's just specific yet far out enough and vague enough to put your own imagination into it. I love the way it was shot on the film for sure.

I believe Scartissue is about pain.. from drug addiction to bullying, etc
@Egoblivion4 жыл бұрын
More specifically though, the aftermath and trying to heal...?
@MomPita4 жыл бұрын
@@Egoblivion I believe the bullying part is from Anthony's own experience as a kid getting bullied, specifically by Dave Navarro ( crazy, right?) And I think the drugs and self harm was one of the other bandmates witnessing a young womans life spiraling out of control. I think the scar tissue is a result of the scars we bare from tough times in the past.

The video shows their wounds on the outside, but the song is about their wounds on the inside. Remember, it's scar tissue "that i wish you saw," meaning that it's in the soul. "With birds i'll share this lonely view" suggests a feeling of being remote and distant from humankind, as though no-one could possibly understand who you are, growing up almost feral; sit in a tree with birds and watch the world go by. The video externalizes their pain and hard times in the bleak broken-down desert of their traumatized souls, but they keep on pushing through.

This was their gradual shift from a real hard punk-alternative to a more hard rock-pop style. To really hear them cut lose, plus a cool video, try “Dani California”. It’s like a rock history lesson and it builds to an all out jam.

RHCP have one of the greatest bassist and guitarist in all of rock music. I suggest my favorite song, Snow, as well as Can't Stop, Otherside, Give it Away, Tell Me Baby, Dani California, and By The Way. Their (usual) guitar player John Frusciante has a great solo tune called Going Inside.

Hey...I hope you are well. Thank you for your positivity. It means a lot. I've been listening to RHCP since I was 11. I'm now 43. Flea is the funkiest bass player in this galaxy. John is so soulful on lead, Chad kills the drums and Anthony has so many styles of singing. " Blood Sugar Sex Magic" he sounds like an animal..." Give it away" he raps and flows...along with many other songs."Suck my kiss " is just fun and naughty. "Sir psycho sexy " well...he tells a hot female cop to suck his ahhhhmmm and such. "Aeroplane" is one of my favorites...because I like pleasure spiked with pain and music is my aeroplane. Watch some of their concerts. Their energy is ridiculous.

Its about their reunion with John. Scar tissue that I wish you saw. Anthony and John were best friends for 4 years but then they grew apart because John didn’t want the level of fame they aquired. So they broke up and John developed a catastrophic heroin habit. After 8 years they came in touch again. Sarcastic mr know it all, close your eyes and ill kiss you, with birds I’ll share this lonely view. They were always a very sarcastic band and in the beginning a bit toxic, everyone with a big ego and all drug maniacs. Anthony and John used to kiss each other on the lips as a sign of affection. That’s like stop all the unreal shit and just come to my heart man, kiss me and give me your love. And sorry for all the hurting. Its really about forgiveness for each other. Although they are very scared. And you know, sometimes you just want to let the other person know how much they hurt you, „that I wish you saw“, but you have to forgive. That’s why they are all so scared up in the video. John is also driving the car as a symbol of his coming back to the band (fun fact he doesn’t have a drivers lisence). Soft spoken with a broken jaw, step outside but not to brawl. Yes they hurt each other so hard. But it’s forgiving again. That saying hey you hurt me so much but I love you, let’s make this work again, sorry for everything that happend. This was one of the first Songs they wrote in fleas garage after John rejoined. In his book Anthony tells the story. Something like: „ It was so magical to reconnect with John again, on a loving and on a musical level. They made the instrumental and we recorded it on tape. I took my Walkman and walked in the park on that beautiful sunny day. I looked at the sky and saw the birds flying together. I wrote the complete song in one take, it was like opening a window.“ I think you really hear in the guitar riff that hurt, that forgiveness, that hug after you fight and cry because you love each other. Beautiful song, beautiful story, beautiful souls. During his addiction John was also on the verge of dying. That was especially painful to watch because their best fried and original guitar player hillel slovak died age 26 because of an heroin overdose. John was 18 when he joined the band, the other 3 almost in their 30s. So he was also the baby of the band.
