A lot of people say you can't do Mountain with a 450, really its just more clutch work to keep it moving. Still a blast to run though!

Never got that memo 450= no mountain… lol. Love my Sx450 in norther BC rocky hill sand hill climb ‘‘em all not going to lie it is a challenge but why else ride.

Motorcycle experiences are so relative. Ten+ years ago, I too, ran lots of mountain single track. I moved from the Nevada desert to the SoCal mountains, bringing my Big Red Pig Honda XR650R (the water cooled Baja bike). After a year or so of riding mountain trails, I traded it in on a shiny new CRF450X. And it was amazing to me how light and nimble the 450X felt. I’ve never ridden a 250 4 stroke, so I have no basis for comparison there. From my perspective, 450’s make excellent technical trail bikes that don’t wear you out. I’ll have to try a 250F someday, just to see what all the hoopla’s about.

Looks like a fun trail. I absolutely love my CRF450. On really hot days definitely makes me sweat but it's worth the workout. Also probably wouldn't hurt to put a radiator fan on it

Rode a 2022 Yz450FX tonight. It was fun in the high speed flowing single track but i definitely didnt care for it in the technical stuff granted the bike wasnt set up for me but still, Ill take my 300 smoker anyday!

Just picked up the Sherco SEF450 Factory. Loved my Beta390 but couldn't find a new one. Loved the SEF300 Factory as well, but missed the torque for my size. First real rides this weekend. Being a clydesdale plus rider, the 450 seems good but certainly not close to the nimbleness of the other 2 bikes I mentioned. Gearing seems spot on and the KYB's are magic. Can't wait but I'm a little worried about it wearing me out. It's surprisingly light (lighter than my 16 390 for sure). Can't wait to get it out.

Good stuff! I love CRF's, I rode my uncorked crf450L with an enduro tune on technical single track today and loved it. Definitely need to lower the grearing though. A lot of high revs in first because second gear was to high.

Uncorked ! Yep … I’ve just peeked in the box to discover a throttle Venturi (without the restriction) and an exhaust part. The shop is fitting them at 9am 😂

Well I finally got a dirt bike for the first time since I was on a 50cc. It’s a 2005 Honda crf450x. It’s not my first choice, but I’m getting way to good of a deal on it to say no and I’m excited to just get into riding as an adult.

Kyle, I am wondering if/how you monitor Engine temp? Long stretches in 1st gear on a 4-stroke, seems like overheating would be a problem.

I trash them and praise them. Doesn't matter the color... I do it to all of them. When they are great, I praise them, and then they aren't great, I say it. Welcome to the party :). Been doing it this way since 2013! This bike has some really great properties, and it has some deficiencies. Just like any other bike...
