Excellent backing track!!! For those who don't know the key is Bflat so either tune your guitar a half step down, or move down a half step. And in case you really don't know b is on the 7th fret of the low E that will be your root note. You play the pentatonic blues scale on starting with the 7th fret if your tuned a half step down... If your standard tuned play it starting on the 6th fret... Hopefully this is helpful to someone!!! I would also recommend trying the major pentatonic on this too

Great job! Thanks for putting this together. I really enjoy playing the studio version note-for-note, mainly because I never cease to gain something from following Jimi’s masterful phrasing. His template translates perfectly into a great addition to my bag of tricks. I just have to remember to start the song by saying, “So we’re cookin’ now, is that what you’re tryin’ to say? Haw haw haw!”

Bass makes the song. Totally clever to use the bass as the blues rhythm which gives it that old party funk sound.
@fonzario4 жыл бұрын
hi. I totally agree with you on that. I had learned the bass and now that I got to hear this, I now know that I got it note for note. What was strange to me is that the bass player chose to play a rhythm on the bass but it fits nicely with the rest of the music.
@Backfromthestorm3 жыл бұрын
@@fonzario Jimi told Noel what to play, if you listen to the first couple of takes. I think the released single is the 3rd or 4th take. They did it again for the American version some time after so there's actually 2 studio versions of Red House, and about a million live versions.

People with no music education shouldn't talk about whether theory helps or not. If theory was useless, it wouldn't have existed in the first place. Music theory ISN'T just a bunch of rules that you have to follow. Music theory IS a comprehensive explanation of HOW and WHY sounds work in music. It's meant to give you the tools you need to play the music you want to play. Without music education you'd end up discovering the same principles, but it'll just take you a hell of a lot longer to do it on your own AND you might be unable to figure some of things out by yourself. That's an immediately apparent fact, but some people are too full of themselves and too dumb to get it.

@ayyyebruuh66129 жыл бұрын
??? Are you dumb there's no reason for that? I'm just stating my opinion that theory is use less to a certain point. Once you know the arpeggios and what scale or mode goes with a set of chords the rest is ear training. And jamming? Dumb ass why would I need to read it again?
@ayyyebruuh66129 жыл бұрын
Reading sheet music and music theory are two completely different things on MY opinion sheet music is kind of a waste of time but just because Hendrix didn't know sheet music don't mean he didn't know theory he was probably taught at the very least the minor pentatonic scale when he got tips from other guitar players.
