Knock Out is one of the best TF characters ever. A Decepticon that sees the light and doesn't die AND got sweet revenge for his bro Breakdown who was done SO wrong.

To be Fair Shockwave almost NEVER transformed in the show, so he does make more sense than most as a RED.

The Cyber Battalion Shockwave is actually surprisingly decent if lacking a neck and knee joints, and can even be put in a vaguely plausible gun mode by folding one wing and spinning that side's arm forward as a scope, while the other arm is swiveled out to reinforce the remaining wing as a grip. Right side folded and left side grip seems to work best, and really it's just that this leaves the barrel oriented tall rather than wide that detracts from being as G1 as the robot mode. I will also say that his hand, arm gun, and wings are much less red-purple on the production pieces than the one that was photographed for the official publicity shots, so they fit in much better with the rest of his color scheme. Sadly he's mostly gone to the aftermarket scalper hell now, rather than the far more reasonable original retail price point.

It just fits him so well, and it feels a little more normal than an lot of the prime designs which wound up with kibble for the sake of kibble. Like Arcee's wing, and apparently 3 tires.

I'm thinking of maybe getting RED Optimus but the materials of the line from what I see so far are not good at all, like they made them purposely of plastic that will break easily or yellow over time and that's been a major issue with modern figures which I did see with horrifyingly enough ER Megatron in one picture, but idk the RED line is just meh to me.

Update on this figure, Knockout's ab crunch actually does work, it's just that there's no clicking sound to let you know that you've actually done it right, and if you just slightly use the ab crunch it also stops him from falling backwards because of the tires on his back

I saw two Knockouts while at Walmart last weekend, I didn’t get them because I didn’t want to risk wasting my money on garbage and that was before this video came out, the day before this video came out. I love Knockout, don’t get me wrong, but I want a good figure of him. I’m gonna get the Legacy one but dear lord I am SO disappointed with that thing before even getting it. Quick question: WHY THE F*CK WOULD THEY CHOOSE THE JAZZ MOLD TO MAKE A KNOCKOUT!?!!!?!?!!! They have NOTHING in common and the figure looks HIDEOUS!!! I’m not usually one to get mad a Hasbro for this kinda stuff but Hasbro you lazy motherf*ckers!!! That just makes my blood BOIL!!! I was fine with Arcee from the beginning because she looked good just bulkier, but Bulkhead just PISSED ME OFF, and now Knockout is here to PISSED ME OFF again when I had just gotten used to Legacy Bulkhead. I was FINALLY starting to accept the G1 stuff in chug and I am warming up to the Bumblebee designs, but now they’ve crossed a line. First they take the live action movies and give them to the G1ers and now they’re taking my favorite characters from my favorite Transformers show and just giving them to the G1ers to? I swear this is some bullsh*t. Even if the Beast Wars characters in Kingdom were more “realistic” at least they still looked like the OGs with all the details the same, but with the Prime characters in Legacy (excluding Arcee) they aren’t even trying. Damn RED figures. They're just the worst. They're made of bendy plastic that are similar to the plastic some gacha figures are made of, and you wonder how they make the great SD Gundam gacha figures for amazing value, they cost $4 (and this is a markup price, they're actually the equivalent of $2 in Japan) and they're around 4 cm tall. So cheap, and the bendy plastic is the reason I prefer the gacha figures over the model kits. The gacha's head crests won't break like the model kits' and the small size means that you will never experience the disadvantages of bendy plastic in SD Gundam gacha figures. They don't become loose cause they use hard plastic as inner joints. But some figures do have backpack problems. But the RED figures use bendy plastic for FUCKING NOTHING cause they're the same price and size as Deluxe class. They're wobbly. They're too heavy for the bendy plastic. And they don't transform. These things are worse than Deluxe figures in every way. I'm down bad for TF Prime Arcee. That's the only reason I'm even remotely interested in RED figures. She can go topless and... Oh great. It's my inner horny. Shoo. Shoo. Nah these are like awful value, these have worse sculpt than deluxes. Deluxes are super gappy, but they can pull off good Masterpiece level sculpting. But the RED Arcee's face is barely sculpted. I will not stand for this. No one should recommend RED figures, especially when Origins Bumblebee, SS86 Perceptor, and Kingdom Warpath are literally right there at the same damn price. I just bought Core Soundwave today, and I'm pretty satisfied. While he can't do all of Core Optimus' extreme yoga, Soundwave has arguably the same level of hilarious articulated jank. He can do the "hoo haa" ape pose without swiveling the lower arm, he can bend his knees both ways, he has a thigh swivel like a modern superhero action figure, and he has an opening slot, which is really cool. He can handstand like Core Optimus too. This transformation feels better than Optimus'. But only by a little bit. Both Core Optimus and Soundwave have their classic transformations, which is great.

I know what you mean by not caring about the prime designs. Optimus looks a little weird while trying to be samey. Starscream needs more colors, even if I feel his shape fits him. Arcee's new design kinda works for me. But my favorite is still Soundwave. New alt mode, keeping the deceptiface, colors are different but somehow look like him. I'm ranting, but my point being. I feel the Prime designs are a bit of a mixed bag.

The RED makes no sense. It’s supposed to be the transformers answer to the Star Wars black series but… isn’t voyager already fulfilling that role? Especially with core class releases of key characters. If voyager isn’t then MP and premium finish sure are. What the RED line feels like is corporate demanded something happen and the designers weren’t onboard and so have been putting minimal time into them in order to concentrate on mainline.

also I've always opposed to the idea of transformers not transforming, but I think RED did a decent job so we can get designs like prime knockouts in a way that doesn't have foh (I think that's how you spell it) forming I also think that they should cost the same as the size counter parts, like if red Knockout is deluxe scale he should cost accordingly, but with superior articulation to make up for that no transforming feature. sorry bad grammar and spelling.

And I'd say that something that puts this line to shame is that it usually doesn't even pose better than Regular Chug Figures, and in some cases much worse.

This is going to be- No. Honestly, this and Arcee were the only R.E.D. figures i Might have gotten, but A) the only place I can by transformers stopped ordering them because they didn't sell. Wonder why... and B) Legacy already has them. I know they are stylized and I know they arnt perfect, but atleast they are Transformers. Still, this figure seems to be half way decent and I wouldn't mind picking it up if there were more figures that justify their existence. Also, why release these characters only to make them in the main line? All the G1 characters already Had figures that Looked OK, Cheetor and Primal got figures before or After their Kingdom Figures and the Prime characters are back in Legacy. WHAT WAS THE POINT?!

Did you see the super 7 "Ultimate" Optimus prime? because I was 100% right about it. It has terrible articulation, it looks terrible, and you can't open up his chest to hold the matrix, and the hands that come with the figure can't hold the matrix either. There is absolutely nothing redeeming about that figure that justifies it being 50 bucks. I'm so glad I don't have to spend 50 dollars on a non-transforming Optimus prime now. (for context I said if it was good I would buy it as a way of saying sorry for trashing on it and super 7 for a very long time)

I've gone on about what I think of the RED line before so lemme say what I think of Knockout... I got nothin. I didn't watch Prime when it was on because I was more into Beast Wars and also thought Prime not having his flames was weird. Since then I'm sure it's good but I think it's got the weirdest designs. Beast Machines was just ugly, Bayformers was ugly with raytracing enabled, Animated was charming to me, but Prime is just weird to me. No noses, no lips, way too drastic design changes for my liking with Starscream being the worst of it to me especially with spindly appearance that looks like the Phantom Virus from Scooby-Doo. Without turning this into predictions on your Prime roasts video, I'm sure the shows great and I do plan on giving it a shot. Knockouts design is cool and I love his voice in clips I've seen.

Spoiler alert on my eventual review, but I don't think you really need to see it, if just to avoid the horrors of Miko and Wheeljack the two most Cancerous characters in all the Transformers, and this is taking Skidz and Mudflap into account. And yeah Knockout has a really cool voice.

@@PerspectiveEnd I won't say that the concept (and only that since the execution is really poor in this case) is bad by any means since basically is an action figure like any other important IP in the 80s was, and that's the thing: Transformers are no G.I.Joes, nor Masters of the Universe; Transformers are unique by the fact that they can switch from one mode to the other; they're two (or three, or six) toys in one!
