Buddy i see that you work a lot run and gun style...but even run and gun the films are very smoth...im looking to get a komodo but im use to work with sony and ibis, and every thing that makes run and gun look like a gimble...could you please just let us some tips about your post production stabilization ?? Thanks !

how much footage do you find that 1tb cf card holds? and how much charge time does the nano x battery give you?

Very well thought out, Tyler. Thank you for posting. Question. I have a RED KOMODO (Gen 1) which offers just one mini audio input on the left side of the camera. There are on-camera XLR to mini mounts available. Mid 49 sells one, in fact. Do you know if the RED pre amps on the RED KOMODO (Gen 1) are good enough for just the XLR to mini option, or should I purchase a pre amp from someone like Beachtek or Tascam and run it through that first? Would be using 2 pro XLR mics and the RED KOMODO (Gen 1). As you know, RED added a better, 5-pin audio input to the back of the X.

Great videos, thank you! Question, is it not possible to use the RED 5-Pin to Single 3.5 mm Adapter with the Rode Videomic NTG? Do you have to use the XLR to 3.5mm adapter? Thanks!
@TylerEdwards3 ай бұрын
You can use an adapter but don’t buy the red one; it is hot garbage. I got a custom one built from mutiny to use with my videomic ntg which is way better than red’s cable.

Nice set up! I recently purchased the Red Komodo X along with the DSMC 5-Pin Dual XLR adapter to use with my Audio-Technica microphone. While testing the setup, I noticed that I’m only getting sound on the left side of my headphones, and the right side is only producing static. I’d really appreciate any guidance on how to resolve this issue. Thank you so much for your help!

Hey Tyler, I bought the same Mid49 audio box (after seeing your video haha), and found that even at lowest audio level it's still relatively sensitive, did u have this issue? My on camera mic is sennheiser 8060, a great one for documentary.
@Unitedpersona9 ай бұрын
I kinda solve the problem by decreasing the limiter level from -6dBFS to -12dBFS. Maybe cuz I used the 48V phantom power so the signal is too hot.
@chrispost3022 ай бұрын
hey could you link the shoe mount for the microphone?

Anyone else having issues with audio on the Komodo X. I get a high pitched frequency with red audio breakout. Changed it to another brand and it’s now quieter but still present. Help 😢

You’re the second person I’ve heard have this issue. I personally do not have the issue, but I also have a storm trooper model which may not mean anything lol

I’m a little confused on the DD wireless system. Are you able to record internally and also transmit to your camera? I was under the impression that that option wasn’t allowed and only one or the other could be done. Honestly, that’s what keeps me back from purchasing them. Do you recommend them?
@TylerEdwards10 ай бұрын
You can’t record and transmit in the USA but you can anywhere else. Highly recommend

There’s enough room for sure. I just don’t run the outrigger here because it gets too crowded with the shotgun mic. Good to know about the 24-70. What issues exactly?

it still looks weird to me. you have to play "Lego style" to build a rig. It can't be run n gun without compromise. FS7, FX9 with their hand grips, canon C - you just have to hang those cameras on your shoulder and press the rec button.
