There is also another amazing, but smaller, hill about an hour away in Nelson, called Whitewater. If you're in that area make sure to ski there too. You won't be sorry.

When I was skiing there in the 90's, they actually had several runs labelled as Triple Black Diamonds. I personally think they changed the ratings because they were scaring away prospective visitors. But, Red is my favorite place in Canada to ski that's for sure

Unfortunately Red now charges $25/night for overnight parking. No facilities come with the charge.

@@YouDecideIsItWorthIt Thanks! Yes, we've skied in Nelson, at White Water a handful of times, and passed through Rossland. We had tentatively planned on skiing there, but for "reasons" we didn't end up skiing that day. I've heard nothing but good things, although the regulars tend to think it sucks ;-)
