At top speed you have 190mph TAS, full manifold pressure and max RPM but only 6.07GPH fuel flow, later at 35" and lower RPM you had 7.29 GPH fuel flow. What happened? Did you find that you needed to richen the mixture due to high temps? Was the 6.07GPH at 190mph sustainable? All of those numbers look great, the changes you guys made to the Sonex with this model B are fantastic. I really like this affordable little hotrod now.

Looks good. Why the high fuel burn at 35 MAP? Mixture?

I second the question. All aircraft are different, got it, but what are YOUR fuel burns in THAT bird? Thanks!

Interesting numbers for the AV-T. How does it compare with the J3300 below 10K'? Above 10K is where the AV-T will prove it's worth. Thanks for sharing...

Hiccuped a little with negative G. The aircraft does not have an inverted fuel system.

Looking at the side shots of the cockpit, I see gaps...are those really there? Or? Thanks!

Out of curiosity, do you guys happen to remember if this flight was done with the 56x52 cruise prop or the 54x50 climb prop for the aerovee turbo? I'm impressed with the speed you guys are getting with the B-Model.

Would you call 30" MP "cruise" nowadays for a Waiex B with this power and weight?

Is there anyway to get your performance figures with two people onboard, full fuel in a cross-country flight?

Good! When the B-Model did first flight?

Just curious. I have a (well 2005 Sonex) Corvair powered Sonex - at about 120hp and don't get anywhere near those speeds. 3300rpm is about max and maybe 150mph TAS. Is it drag reduction or different airfoil, prop, or what on the newer version?

How is it more efficient at the higher map?

I hear the fuel flow sensor is notoriously finicky. Could just be showing faulty fuel flow numbers. You can look into the issues yourself if you're interested. Sonex aircraft usually either use the "Red Cube" or "Gold Cube" to read fuel flow.

The reason they make you put together the VW engine is to reduce their liability. According to some people I know in the field, when they take their planes to events they take the wings off. So they do not loose one flying.I think it is a good little plane but a crappy company. If I am wrong please tell me.

let's just try flying by the seat of our pants in a stall & just not looking at the panel. I understand that we are test flying, but don't show our viewers that's the way to fly........
