So as long as you make sure the rubber band is relatively evenly tight on both sides of the axle, physics makes sure it's straight. Brilliant. Thanks for sharing!

Great of you to share Red Pill! I also caught it in your great test vid the other day. Like you, I have made the common used version, but have had frustrations, especially with some of the various chassis designs out there. I can see your design covers areas of concern I have had so far. So great, I will build some various RPR versions tomorrow! Cheers & Thx

Hey RPR, I completed my first prototype and tests of your jig. I used what I had here, machine squared timber. For me, I also added marked centre lines on the timber and a series of squared off lines, such that visually I could check alignment of the chassis and the wheels. With the demo test I did, the elastic bands put light tension on the wheels, taking them out to the pin head on the axles. This is great, as again I was able to check the alignment visually, equally centred, and also with a set square. I was also able to check all wheels are level/flat by upturning and placing on a known flat surface. (And not having to worry all will fall apart.) You can even check it in the old dowel jig! So thank you. I will make a few more variations tomorrow. Thumbs up.

Awesome. I had built 4 or 5 different designs before this one. All of them were ok but this one is so simple and like you said it does everything that you need it to do. Thanks for letting me know how it worked for you.

Question....you say you put your grooves in front of the axles. Why? Does this angle give better tension to hold the axle in place during the curing process? Thanks
@MrREDPILLhimself4 жыл бұрын
I just rough up the base to give the jb weld something to hold onto a little bit better
@PoBoyRacing804 жыл бұрын
@@MrREDPILLhimself Thanks for that...i meant the grooves on the axle tool. You say you put them forward of the axle. So the rubber band is not at a 90 deg...but is pulling forward. Is this to hold the tension on the axle better? Thanks
@MrREDPILLhimself4 жыл бұрын
@@PoBoyRacing80 its really just my preference. I feel like it just pulls both axles to the front of the groove that they sit in and makes the alignment more precise.
