34:13 Is it correct to just go for the combo here? You can flip in response to any removal and giving them the Gambit means you take two but their next turn they need a solution or another creature (Obviously way easier to say after the fact, just curious)

this was the correct play, yes. I think he might have been mistaking disguise for plot and thinking he has to flip it on a different turn.
@therealax66 ай бұрын
@@Sivarias I think he thought the opponent would have a chance to remove the Falcon before it was flipped. The opponent did not: entering the battlefield doesn't yield priority, and flipping a creature is a special action that doesn't use the stack.

@dracosfire72476 ай бұрын
That was my thought too. 2 damage to engage your win condition seemed correct.
@rhysbenson20616 ай бұрын
Doing the combo instead of go for the throat is pretty bad here. That line costs him minimum 8 life when he's at 11. Draw for turn + falcon flip is 2 draws for 4 life. That's also all his mana so he couldn't play go for the throat even if he found an untapped land. Opponent makes him sacrifice bird with lilliana and then hits with sheoldred for another 4. If opponent plays any other creature they keep the sheoldred and force CGB to kill it on upkeep next turn. He might've been able to win at that point but it's riskier than keeping his greed around.
@Kylekyleusn6 ай бұрын
@@rhysbenson2061 Flipping bird was absolutely the right play. He takes 8 from the line you talk about, then the opponent loses the sheoldred the next turn because of either go for the throat or gambit. The opponent couldnt double lilliana discard because then he is sacrificing sheoldred. This isn't even a hindsight-type play, there were very few if any outs for the opponent.

This has been one of my go-to jank decks for the last 2 months... mine was really focused on the combo. Also used board wipes, Beseech the Mirror, Unauthorized Exit, Archfiend of the Dross and Shifting Grift to swap a "must deal with" enchantment or creature from the opponent. I normally play Bo3 but I found this deck ineffective once the surprise element is gone. Overall had a 57% winrate in 100+ games.
@shaneadkison53696 ай бұрын
This deck I've actually had a lot of success with running this town ain't big enough as the bounce spell and running spyglass siren as a way to gobble up some removal. Shifting grift let's you trade kumanos with gambit and snazzy creatures, while also letting you trade off your spyglass siren then take it right back with falcons attack. The map token from siren can also trade with hefty artifacts and like synthesizer. I toyed with asinine antics because it generates a lot of card draw since owning them doesn't matter, but it never seems to make a big enough difference, just a win more situation.

The Bloomburrow card CGB is talking about in the end is probably not Season of Weaving. Although it would do the trick and he loves drawing cards, but it's a bit of a clunky sorcery and it is expensive. So he is probably referring to the one blue costing instant Into the Flood Maw.
