Saw UB40 at the Old orpheum Theatre on Granville Street in Vancouver, What a fantastic venue! The concert was awesome. One of the best ever. Loved it

This is IMO one of the most successful covers ever. They kept Diamond's awesome melody pretty much wholly intact, but with a great bass line and rhythm they gave it a totally different atmosphere. What's not to love?

Believe it or not, it was originally an early 1900's Salvation Army song which Neil Diamond transformed into his 1968 hit "Red Red Wine"... It was also a big reggae hit for Tony Tribe back in 1969, becoming a standard that many musicians, including UB40, thought its writer was Jamaican...
