I am an Iranian immigrant to the United State. In 1977 at the age of eleven we moved to America for one year. The first time I heard the pledge of allegiance it was in 6th grade at our school in Peterborough New Hampshire. And boy did I fall in love, not with one of the girls at school but with the pledge of allegiance and this great country! In 1979 we immigrated on a permanent basis to America and in 1996 I was honored to become a naturalized US citizen! And yes my whole family has since become Christians. God continue to bless America!

I MET Red Skelton in 1986. I was playing Piano Bar at a premier luxury hotel and got to shake his hand. I told him he had the funniest show on TV. Humbly, he just smiled and said "thank you". I'll never forget that moment. 🇺🇲

Every year that I taught U S History, I would have my class write in their notebooks the transcript of what Red said in this. Got to know Red briefly when we both went to Lawrence Welk's in Escondido for Thanksgiving Dinner. Indeed, Red loved this country and He loved the Lord. Red's sign off for his Tuesday night broadcasts was always "Good night and God bless." When thinking of a sign off for my Bethany Bible Church Channel, I use a similar sign off in his honor. Red loved the Lord, and his earthly remains at Forest Lawn Glendale I visit when I am there.
