Ingredients:
Marinate the Fish:
In a bowl, marinate the fish pieces with a pinch of turmeric, salt, and a little red chili powder. Set aside for about 10-15 minutes
Sankara fish: 500g, cleaned and cut into pieces
Shallots: 20-25 nos
Tomatoes: 2 medium, finely sliced
Green chilies: 3 nos
Garlic: 10 cloves
Tamarind: A small lemon-sized ball, soaked in water
Curry leaves: A handful
Coriander leaves: A handful for Garnish
Coconut milk: 1 cup (grind into fine milk)(optional for a richer curry)
Mustard seeds: 1 tsp
Fenugreek seeds: 1/4 tsp
Cumin seeds: 1/2 tsp
Turmeric powder: 1/2 tsp
Red chili powder: 2 tsp (adjust to taste)
Coriander powder: 4 tsp
Cumin powder: 1 tsp
Salt: To taste
Oil: 3 tbsp (preferably gingelly oil)
Water: As needed
