Yeah we know everything about it now but imagine the kids who played both gens and saw the guy they played as who now was their final challenge. That battle probably influenced how prevalent Red would be in the future.

It'd be the best use of 3D the series has pulled off, in my opinion. Have the top be covered in clouds that clear as you approach the summit. Turning around reveals you can't see the ground anymore. Pressing on, a lone figure waits, looking out at the sun shining on the fluffy mass. You speak to him, and he turns. He's old-school. When two Trainers lock eyes, they have to battle. i personally think that post honeymoon, red took up the mantle of travelling champion level trainer, travelling with blue while he has to go overseas for pokemon research and league business, accepting battles for fun and training, and when blue's stationed at the gym back home, red acts as the champion of battle tower matches in kanto. imagining red and blue visting kalos together is very funny to me since we know blue was there as a teen, he probably wanted to act like a super cool tour guide for his husband, but he can barely speak the language and gets them lost in lumios somehow.
