Massive ABBA vibes for sure. I'm so glad RV is only taking things from the current meta (sci fi) that still fit into their concept. And their chord changes are so specific to Red Velvet...I think that's what you are hearing in terms of its similarity to old works...not that the chords are the same, but that they use changes not normally heard in today's very R&B-focused KPop. I think they will always be the group that exemplifies the cutting edge of KPop without trying to escape KPop.

And Bowie early years nostalgia (Life on Mars)
@zeronyne2 ай бұрын
@@EmilioCuervo777 I hadn’t thought about that. It would be interesting to see a revival of the very late 60s and early 70s, but KPop would most likely turn it into a cartoon, unfortunately, rather than a true tribute.

Cosmic having disco/dance pop/funk elements really fit the summer vibe without going to the typical tropical sound that's been used in kpop. The ABBA and Mamamia connections you pointed out makes so much sense as well! What I noticed as I watched your reaction is that there are dance parts here that are done with seriousness vs the joyous feel of midsommar. I think Seulgi and Irene have dance parts that look like ritual movements.

Actually lots and lots of kpop now have the same or something redundant music style in kpop ... And Red velvet is ahead of their time red velvet made different concept nor different frm the rest... if red velvet was inspired to do this MV just to be different frm the rest of KPOP DISCOGRAPHY and THEME then I wouldn't mind. And besides in today's generation its hard to create and think more wide CONCEPT thats so different frm the rest. And red velvet did this, Very very different and the most beautiful ever KPOP MV frm a grp esp girl group, they dethroned FEEL MY RYTHM.... Edit: Remember that ever since FMR classiacal inspired released Following of the rest groups trying to recreate too but ofc kpop did that b4 comes frm SM group too but yet it was forgotten again few years after then RV made it back then THE REST FOLLOW. if RV would made an MV inspired frm a MOVIE I'm sure months after REST OF KPOP GROUPS WILL TRY TO MADE THAT TOO...

MV is inspired by Midsommar (the movie). The film is inspired by a Swedish tradition of celebrating the summer solstice. The summer solstice is the most lovely and familiar tradition of Sweden, its original country, everyone is in a good mood. Fairycore, mysterious forest vibrations, etc. It is also the largest holiday in Sweden, only a few countries celebrate this beyond Swedish, and is celebrated in very different ways depending on the country. But the film was specifically inspired by Midsommar in Sweden, which is what they make reference in MV. Traditions between countries have some difference and similarities. Like: Belarus, Poland and Finland, which is the greatest similarities in the original traditions of Sweden. Even having a company that is not giving due value to these divas, and even with low budget they have turned powder into gold, and still proved once again, with a million views in 3 hours, which must be much more while posting this), to confirm that they are the best group of live idols. Red velvet you will always be unique !! ❤🌺🌹🌼🌸🌻🪴🌹🌺👏👏👏
