Mike the drummer of the band claims he wrote this song (well, mostly. Songwriting is usually collaborative on some level). Supposedly, he's only written a small percentage of the songs by Red Vox.

I love this song. The lyrics remind me a lot of the story of Frankenstein. Especially the part about "There's a monster, taking root in the property," since victor built the monster in his basement,and "Find a way to push the blame on you," in which Victor pushes the blame for all the deaths the monster causes on the monster and not himself for creating him.

this is my 10 year old xander's favorite red vox song along with be someone forever. it's so sweet when he sings along with me. definitely his favorite band, though being a vinesauce fan helped there, it wouldn't be for that alone for sure. he was just so excited when it hit him that 'oh my god, that IS vinny singing!' not sure if youngest red vox fan but certainly passionate!

Made myself a little garden To grow myself my only friends I got myself a brand new start and Oh no! I screwed it up again! Guess I'm staying up all night In my mind, but out of sight I'm to blame for this I hide away until the day is through I will pay for this I'll find a way to push the blame on you I won't run from this Hide away until the day is through I can't believe my eyes this morning I found a plot of weeds instead Cause today is so adoring My god! So easy to offend I would rather fly than fight Close my eyes and hang on tight Not to blame for this I hide away until the day is through I will run from this I'll find a way to push the blame on you I'll be alright tomorrow Hide away until the day is through It's so simple It's as easy as it can be Make a monster Lock it up throw away the key In the backyard Burried deep underneath the tree There's a monster Taking root in the property In the garden Where the weeds are now growing free In the garden Where my friends plot to bury me There's a jungle It's as far as the eyes can see Overgrown now It's no longer a fantasy But it's too late By the time I realize I can't see now Cause the dirt is into my eyes

BtheDestroyer hey, do you guys have any theories on the songs meaning? Obviously its completely up to the listener, but i love hearing what others think too.
@thatoneguy95496 жыл бұрын
CinnamonHoney Well, when I first heard it, I obviously went for the simpliest meaning, where the song is sung from a prespective of a person with social anxiety that tried to socialise once more, hoping it could work this time, only for something to go wrong and only make their anxiety worse. Now, this is just something I(and some others) heard. The original video has much more comments, with some saying it's about Vinny and his followers, others saying it's about political leaders and their people, and so on. And all with proper explanations. It's really facanating how a song can have so many different meanings make sense at the same time.

This song has been one of my favourites from Red Vox for a while now, its lyrics hit me deep on a personal level. But right now, these lyrics also hit in a different way - I hope Vinny is doing alright. I was betrayed by my friends in the past and made to take the blame for something I never did. I was pretty much exiled from everyone and felt like a monster, so I didn't even try to fight the accusations, I just hid myself away. I blamed myself for a long time before finally realising in therapy how I was gaslighted by my "friends" and how what happened wasn't really my fault. Too bad that at that point, I had isolated myself for years out of guilt, paranoia and self-hatred. It has not been easy trying to come out of hiding and learn to trust people again, to find new friends after believing for so long that I deserve to have none, that I'm just inherently faulty and a horrible person who will never be able to have friends. I honestly don't know if I can ever trust people again, the trauma of it all is just too deep. Some days I'm not even sure I want to try to come out of hiding, it doesn't seem like worth the effort and risk. I've built myself a pretty comfy tiny little garden surrounded by thick walls - why venture outside just to risk everything, even if it's painfully lonely here?
@blakebakedacake4618 Жыл бұрын
two year old comment but wanted to let you know this almost word for word described something i went through. however, in my case, i was apologized to after a few months. over the course of a year, i tried really hard to forgive, get close to and understand them. as stupidly naive as that sounds in retrospect. However, the same cycle continued. essentially a revolving door of people to blame everything on. it was stressful, and exhausting. I only finally got out when it became clear to me they would never be willing to grant me the same patience and forgiveness. as soon as i made a mistake as hard as i tried to correct it it wasn’t good enough. This only happened a few weeks ago. but i guess point is, you’re not alone in feeling that way. and as unlikely as it may seem there is hope, there are people out there that will understand you. you just can’t force it if they aren’t. i hope you’ve started feeling better since you wrote this
@mileskay75667 ай бұрын
Mike the drummer wrote most of the lyrics for this particular song, so it's him you should be asking "are you alright," not Vinny. Mike has undergone something of a modest cry for help over the last few years, yelling frequently and descending into stranger and stranger content as a streamer, so it's not unreasonable to worry for him.

I swear this song is about Vinesauce!! Examples being: Made myself a little garden- Vinesauce community To grow myself my only friends- sarcastically meaning Vinesauce streamers Got myself a brand new start,- Vinny started Vinesauce after separating from his initial band and Oh no, I screwed it up again- general Vinesauce meme trash he's gotta put up with Guess I'm stayin' up all night,-literally streams at late hours of the night In my mind, but out of sight-self commentary, rarely streams with a facecam I'm to blame for this,-he put himself in this situation I hide away, until, the day is due-doesn't stop streaming until the wee hours of the morning I will pay for this,-fucked up schedule, plus general memery he's gotta put up with (Vinny 64) But find a way to push the blame on you-the Vinesauce community that sends him trash I won't run from this-won't give up on his fans, even when Twitch fucks him over I'll Hide away until the day is through-stays in his house all day streaming Can't believe my eyes this mornin'- wakes up shocked from his online status updates I found a plot of weeds instead-general fuckery with the community, Twitch, KZbin, etc. Yesterday was so adoring-most of the fans were happy with last night's stream My god's so easy to offend-some troll fans bicker and bitch about any little thing I would rather fly than fight,-he literally doesn't put up with community infighting, mods do Close my eyes and hang on tight-hopes he comes out the next stream unscathed and active Not to blame for this,-can't be held responsible for Twitch/KZbin, or community fuckups I hide away, until, the day is due-takes a break to let it blow over a bit, until he has to stream I'll run from this,-lets the mods take care of the mess before continuing Find a way to push the blame on you,-again, tries to push the blame on the community Be all right tomorrow,-just waiting until it blows over, can finally upload to KZbin Hide away until the day is through-again, stays in his house making sure the stream's ok It's so simple,-not that difficult to stream, or to piss anyone off during It's as easy as it can be-internet streaming advent made video game live plays accessible Make a monster,-Vinesauce Lock it up, throw away the key-entrapping the viewers into the community by quality streams In the backyard, Buried deep underneath the tree-Vinesauce's obscurity compared to other gaming channels There's a monster-Vinesauce/Vinesauce's memes Taking root in the property-the internet as a whole In the garden,-Vinesauce community Where the weeds are now growin' free-memes, trash, and fuckery In the garden,-Vinesauce Where my friends plot to bury me-trolls, and or the memes putting him down in history There's a jungle,-gaming community It's as far as the eye can see Overgrown now,-oversaturated by gamers, livestreamers, and speedrunners It's no longer a fantasy,-this wasn't possible before the internet, especially high speed But it's too late, By the time that I've realized,-realized the impact he's created I can't see now-can't predict the future 'cause the dirt is up to my eyes.-over swamped with huge responsibility to the community at large, the terrible games he's forced to playthrough, the memes, the fame, the work for not only the Charity streams, but also PR by conventions and online meetings, the list goes on and on

Something I love about Red Vox's music is that Vinny doesn't sound like... Vinny. He sounds like an actual musician that is just a musician, not a streamer or anything else. I can actually separate those two parts of his online presence. It's super refreshing and particularly lucky for his music because it's amazing. For every other personality that's put out music, it just sounds like the personality, not the person, made the music. It's hollow and fake. But Red Vox? 100% real. Not full of stupid in-jokes or references, nothing is being played up. Just a man putting emotions to music.
