2022 Liam Hartrey I mean... there's a bunch of RvB references in Halo games, like some of the marines saying "Shotgun!" when entering a Warthog in Halo 2, or a rock that has "Why am I here?" written on it in Halo 3. But the whole Freelancer thing wouldn't fit too much with the canon Halo lore. But we can confirm that RvB does happen in the Halo universe due to Grif mentioning the Chief and the Covenant during the very first episode. But it's unlikely that RvB is canon.

Ze Rubenator It's an art style choice, I think. Reach had scuffed, well-worn and chunky metal armour which genuinely looked real, while everything in Halo 4 seems to be one flat pastel colour. It makes it look like the PS1 port of South Park.
