I’ve been using red / white for years and absolutely love them. Have 5 pairs and will not use anything else. Winter or summer. Very comfortable, especially on long ( Audax ) rides but I use them now for all rides. They look great and just do exactly what you want them to do. I’ve recommended these for all my friends. Not connected in any way to Yuva, just a big fan of what he’s created. Get a pair, you will not be disappointed. Ride safe all, JD.

The only thing I wish they had is clip-on bib strap, for the bathroom break. As a girl, in ultra, it's essential for me to have something easy to remove with ending up naked in the field :P

Cool man! You'll love it! I'll let Yuva know about the currency
@yuva
@yuva 3 жыл бұрын
Currency options actually give the end customer a worse deal by a few basis points. The converted exchange rate will be identical to the rate the bank gives you with a few basis points added as a buffer against daily forex fluctuations. You can see an example of this for the converted currency at big online stores like Amazon. We tend to feel more comfortable paying in our native currencies without realising it may not always be the best thing to do at a foreign retailer.

Update: First 100km ride with The Bib. Seriously, it is my new favorite. Yuva helped me with the sizing and it is exactly my size. Chamois fits perfectly and is really confortable (what an interesting chamois!), straps feel good on you and the grip is truly huge. Im now interested on its durability, but so far its seriously the best bang for your buck. I love it! Merci Charles!

@Yuva V. Do you think you could make a bib specially for home training, I find that I move a lot less on the bike when training at home, and it's harder to do long times with the same bib that I use when training outside. I can go for 3 to 4 hours outside, but inside I struggle to go for 1.5 hour with the same bib.
@CharlesOuimet
@CharlesOuimet 3 жыл бұрын
that's a good point!
@yuva
@yuva 3 жыл бұрын
This isn't only a bib issue. It's a complex problem caused by bike fit, your trainer setup and even your saddle choice. Some customers get along fine with the same bib and others don't. There isn't a statistically significant way of determining what bib works for indoor riding and what doesn't. My gut says that the pad for indoor riding has to be narrower and thinner because your hips are forced to stay in a more rigid position (because your bike is held rigidly). However, this is not something on my product development roadmap because demand is low and many customers have no problems with the standard bibs. Edit : I do think modern trainers aren't as optimised as they can be. Holding a trainer rigid is unnatural. You're locked in. This is also why you really struggle to get such long rides in.
@Squizzy05

So if you do mostly shorter rides and some long which would you recommend? How are the long distance bibs for normal 1-2 hour rides ?
@CharlesOuimet

The higher tier one is totally fine for short ride too!! I think it definitely worth the extra money, in the long run you'll probably end up doing long rides from time to time!

Hummm can't help you with this, message RW directly for sizing advices!
@yuva
@yuva 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Matthew. You'd be a size M. It could end up being a bit too short though. The size M has a 12 inch inseam (groin to gripper). I do have 190cm tall guys riding size M, but it isn't as long as they'd like. I also have similarly tall guys wearing L and XL, but they're usually much heavier than you. Measure your thigh and if that 12 inch length works for you, grab a pair :). Do note that the size M could be not as compressive as you'd like it to be. Very few 190cm tall guys are as light and lean as you.

As someone just getting into road biking. Would you recommend buying several bibs and jerseys right off the start in order to keep wear down? I do plan on riding 3 to 5 times a week at least so I don't want to run through my first pair of kit
@CharlesOuimet
@CharlesOuimet 3 жыл бұрын
Hey! Yeah I'd suggest you have a good rotation of bibs. At least 3 if you want to ride 3-5 times a week. So you can always have one fresh while the others are getting cleaned and drying (do not but them in the dryer machine!!) I'd suggest you try a few brands and see what works best for you before buying all of them at once. Check out my video where I ranked all my bibs from worst to best. Posted it last week. I'd suggest RedWhite, Pedal Mafia, 7Mesh!

I used to ride in them exclusively when they had an online shop in the EU but now you pay so much extra cost in taxes and customs (at least in Belgium and the Netherlands it's about 40% extra!!!!!) they are as expensive as Rapha!

@yuva 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Koen, you're right about this. However the economics made no sense for the EU reseller I had a few years ago. Prices were artificially low then because the reseller was absorbing part of the VAT instead of passing it to you. The Belgium and Netherlands in particular have exceptionally high import taxes.

I have 2 answers for this : 1) Cycling has 2 broad emotions : pain and bliss. It hurts to ride hard, but is strangely blissful. The red represents pain, the white represents bliss. This is (admittedly) a slightly fluffy reason and something I don't mention on the website. It's for myself. 2) It's a short, memorable name. A little bit unpretentious and simple too. Rolls easily off the tongue too.
