Yes! I love their bibs. I also bought a pair of their $80 bibs that come with a different chamois and leg grippers and I can really feel the difference. Their wind vests are nice too. I might try out their jerseys this summer.

I've bought a few pairs over the last few years and haven't had a problem. First time I heard of them was through Phil Gaimon. I recently rode across Florida from Clearwater to Titusville in one day, than back again a few days later. Both days I spent over 10 hours in the saddle. I encountered no problems at all. With their very reasonable pricing, I will be buying more. I've paid double and triple for other brands and they were no where near as comfortable. I don't need pretentiousness, I just need comfort and quality.

Good to know! I found a cheap kit that I really like, but I wasn't sure if I was missing out by not spending $150-$200. I feel better knowing that the difference in quality is hardly worth the price.

Thanks for the review on the Black Bibs, I have heard a lot about them and am very curious to try them. For years when I wanted a "good" pair of bibs I would get Pearl Izumi, generally trying to pickup one of their better models on a sale. This past year I decided to try Le Col and I have been very impressed with the quality and comfort. I don't think that the Le Col bibs are something that I would pay full retail price for, but when I can get them on a good sale or with a Strava discount, they seem to be a good balance on the price/quality/comfort scale. Based on your review, I may give the Black Bibs a try when I want to pickup another pair.

I tend to agree with you on the "Black Bib'" products! I actually bought a pair of the bibs to ride on my indoor trainer (Zwift) so I wouldn't have to use my more expensive bibs for roughly hour long workouts. It turns out they are extremely comfortable and durable and do wear them on outdoor rides as well. The less expensive bibs I bought are about two years old now. If I had any gripe at all it would be the leg grippers aren't great and the chamois is a bit too plush for my liking, But for $50.00 vs my Santini bibs these are still a great bargain. That said I hear that their $80.00 bibs have made improvements in those areas (grippers and chamois)

I became a fan of yours after watching your Romin Evo review. I like your thorough and methodical analysis. This video was no exception. In a field of products where marketing plays such an important role in the product choices we make, your real world analysis is both refreshing and instructive so a big thank you. In the last couple of years I've been leaning toward Pactimo because of their Lifetime Warranty and quarterly sales. I'd never pay retail for their stuff but with a sale of 50% off, it becomes reasonable. I'm going to look more into those Black Bibs. There's nothing to lose! 🙂

Have tried Black Bibs+ and Neo Pro, BB are my favorite of the value brands. I still prefer some of the finishing details of my Santini and Sportful bibs but as you said BB is 95% of the way there. My favorite piece of kit from them is the gillet, it's freakin slick and nice material. I always get compliments on that one.

I got two pairs this season. I payed extra for the Black Bibs Plus, which have a gripper band. I also got a pair of their Ultimate Adventure Bibs, for the 10+ hour days, and they have pockets in the legs. I think it was $150 for both and they've both been excellent, particularly for the price. I have some Black Sheep kit I prefer, but only because it has some compression - but they were 5x expensive.

The $40 dollar ones look like the ones I have. They were fine until I rode 6 days in a row (Average 1.5 hour rides). The stiching was causing sores. The stiching is better in more expensive bibs if you ride a lot! Otherwise not a lot of difference.

I love mine. I am new to road cycling and the $200 price tag was a bit scary. I have both the $40 black bibs and the $65 gray bibs plus. I also have a pair of Specialized Bibs that were $85 and compared to those the Black Bibs feel better than the Specialized. I total get it if people like Perl Izumi, Castelli and the like but for the price you cant beat it. Great for zwifting and the outdoors. Just my two cents.

Buyer be ware. These shorts use a very large thick chamois pad. If you are size XL-XXXL they may be ok. Pad for Medium size short doesn't sit right for the sit bones. Strong pass for this reason. Material feels good and overall sizing was ok for my 6' 165lb body.

You are simply describing what you see. I can do that. What is the difference in the PAD quality? What is the difference in materials? Need more details.

Nothing against the budget brand, however, videos like this regularly fail to mention that a large part of the cost of premium cycling clothing is due to the company’s investment in research and development. If we all purchased budget gear, it would have an adverse affect on research and development and technology wouldn’t improve as well. It’s worth thinking about this when comparing brands isn’t it?

Why would you compare a $40 bib (or even cheaper on Ali) against a $200 racing Castelli's ? Comparison of the cheapest Castelli bibs versus the $40 bib is more apples-to-apples. You knew at time of purchase the Castelli's were race shorts, why do you then complain about a race radio pocket ?

Steer clear of these people. After about 2 years of using the "Ultimate" bibs the chamois has 0 coushin on the sit bones. I emailed them with a picture. Their response was you are out of warranty (which is only 6 months). But we will give you a discount for a new pair. I have never had a pair of bicycling short do that before and have had some shorts 10 years. Why would I want another pair that would do the same thing? Pathetic! Cheap Chinese junk.
