The Worlds Best Road | Its In Portugal!

Welcome to the worlds best road, and it is in Portugal. I start the day in a small village called Pinhao on the Douro River. I then join the N222 and head towards Porto, this stretch of road has been voted the best in the world on many occasions.
I ride it on my motorcycle to see why all the talk is about. The road hugs the river bank of the Douro river, passing winery's and vineyards along the way. This is a brilliant road but is it the best in the world?
It is almost the perfect motorcycle cruise, just relaxing and taking in the scenery, of Portugal's beautiful surroundings.

Absolutely, the whole area is just brilliant for cruising around. Very relaxing and beautiful scenery, it really slow the pace of life down. Hugging the river with wineries around every corner! Perfect 👍

Cheers, yup I am absolutely loving it so far. Beautiful country. I was going to bring my tent but was struggling for room so decided against it! There are campsite around but not as many as I thought there would be.

Another Picturesque video mate. Ive toured Spain a couple of times but, never Portugal. If you have an open schedule as you make your way home Baiona just over the border into Galicia is well worth a visit, with its old fortifications. Further into Galicia are Celtic sites. Good Coastal Roads for the bike! At the top of Galicia is Costa del a morte- Coast of Death! Ride Safe.

Nothing like bike touring with a fairly flexible schedule, going and stopping where you want. Looks an idyllic ride along the Douro river. Riding through the Picos to and from Santander must be pretty spec as well. Should imagine there is still a lot of snow on the peaks. Spring is a beautiful inspiring season. ATB.

Yup it really is beautiful 👍 Am currently making my way back to Santander to catch the ferry. The wobble is still there, trying to get hold of Triumph to book it in for a check up. Haha no the mirror I would say is half fixed!! Not been a problem on the trip as I have just left it where it should be!

The nh sound is the same as ñ in Spanish. That is why Spain in Portuguese is Espanha, and in Spanish is España.
