Hi, can you trickle charge the aux battery from an electric 'trickle charger' whilst still connected to this Redarc system or do you have to disconnect everything?
@AussieDrifterTouring10 ай бұрын
No need to disconnect the system mate. you can connect a charger and charger the aux battery

Hey mate, great video highly beneficial. Would you be able to plug other items into the Anderson plug such as a fridge of a junction box and if I want to extend the length of the Anderson plug cable to reach my tray would I be able to? Thanks
@AussieDrifterTouring4 жыл бұрын
James Taylor Hey mate, not the Anderson plug it is purely for solar input. But we do make up Anderson accessory harnesses to go with the charger kit if you want to check out our website.www.aussiedriftertouring.com.au/shop

Awesome Vid mate, if you get a flat start/main battery is there anyway to start off the accessory? Also do you have any suggestions on how to monitor the charge rate, is the bluetooth battery thing reliable enough to count on?
@AussieDrifterTouring4 жыл бұрын
Aus Tac hey mate here is our manual jump start option for the Hilux www.aussiedriftertouring.com.au/shop/hilux-2015on-jumpstart-kit. The bluetooth battery monitors are reliable but it doesn’t tell you current. If you want to know that I would recomend the epower pro battery monitor mate.

The cable routing should have its own video lmao JK. great vid mate. Did you have to disconnect the negative on the main while installing the unit?
@AussieDrifterTouring9 ай бұрын
Hey mate, there is a new version of this video too, if you want to check it out kzbin.info/www/bejne/fHzQeWCNeqt7aJIsi=FC2f_uGosUY93ct5 it's not necessary to disconnect the negative but there's no harm in doing that if you would like.

Hey mate I see you never connected the blue wire to ignition source. Why is that ?
@AussieDrifterTouring4 жыл бұрын
terence jenner hi mate. The blue wire is only needed on cars with a variable voltage (smart) alternator because the voltage can get down as low as 12v in these cars. This vehicle has a temperature controlled alternator so the lowest the voltage will ever get while driving is 13.3. So you don’t need to connect the blue wire in hilux, prado or landcruiser. Hope that helps.
@terencejenner59354 жыл бұрын
Ohh ok great thanks I was under the impression that all the newer models from 2008 had smart alternator.
@AussieDrifterTouring4 жыл бұрын
terence jenner no mate it’s a bit hit and miss we do have a video showing an easy way to tell if your car has a smart alternator though. If you go to our channel. Hope that helps

is it the same setup as the 2018 Hilux? no ignition wire used? great vid btw 🤙
@AussieDrifterTouring3 жыл бұрын
Hey mate. Yer it is, Toyota are still using a temperature compensating alternator so no need to connect the ignition wire. That’s only requires in variable voltage alternators.
