IRS Kandi Spyder Go Kart Build Ep2 ~ Diff Mount & Engine Cradle Build

Today we finish up the engine cradle on the Kandi Spyder IRS build. We cut up the back section of the frame to make room for the new rear end. We get the Polaris diff, jack shaft, and engine mount mounted. We design and fabricate a removable and hinged rubber bushing engine mount. Please like, share, and subscribe for more!!!

In my experience, there are book engineers and engineers who have hands on experience . The book engineers are great at planning, budgeting, and such. But, if you want real life problems solved, go to the hands on guys first. Practical experience teaches skills that can't be learned in a classroom. RBG is a great example of what practical experience can bring to the table.

I was excited that someone was actually making a differential for higher power builds. OK - so where's the "diff" in this setup? I see - the engine with the drive pulley - a driven pulley on a Polaris gearbox - a chain going back to a jackshaft. So, where's there a differential in this driveline? Is there a diff in the rear sprocket/brake jackshaft? Looks like a typical solid IRS rear axle setup to me.

This project to redesign/ reconstruct the rear suspension leads me to ask a question about solid axle go karts (no differential). It would seem that asolid axle would cause problems on pavement unless there is some way to unlock one rear wheel. I am in the early stages of building an off road kart and understand it's off-road capabilities would be nil unless I can lock the rear wheels. At the moment I am considering keying one of the two wheels to the axle. And then designing a friction lock for the other wheel that can be tightened or released as needed. Comments are welcome.

How will it handle with the engine weight so high in the chassis?

The engine is not going to off set the rest of the weight that is lower on the chassis. People all said my engine on my supercharged buggy was too high and it handle perfect.

I still want to see someone make a v8 out of 4 predator 670s with it built like it was made like a car v8 where the block is single piece keep it air cooled by having a scoop on the top of the engine with a turbine fan for cooling I estimate the size would be 2.68 L v8

There's a radial engine made out of 3 Briggs engines here on KZbin. Never did see if it ever got completed. 805roadking is the channel.
