RB12 is a great Irish to have on your shelf. Teeling is great with a splash of Ginger ale and lime on a summer day. Cheers

Glad to see our palates are similar: I felt the same about the Johnny. and love the RB12

My wife gave me a bottle of the Teeling small batch for my birthday. It was my first Irish whiskey. It is delicious! I love my bourbon, but the Teeling has me wanting to try more Irish whiskey.

I like irish a lot, but it is sometimes hard to spend money on it when there are so many different bourbons on my list lol

Thanks for keeping it real. It’s basic, but I think this community really needs that.

Exactly what I’m looking for in a review. If I wanted to be entertained I’d go to a comedy show. Less than 13 minutes you gave me a lot of good info.

Once again great review. The only one of these I have had is the Redbreast and it was good but it is around $80 around here unless it is on sale so not sure if I would get it again. IMO there are some really good bourbons for less that are as good or better. I think the same thing could be for the scotches out there. A Glenfiddich 15Y Solera reserve is better than the RB for about the same money. I did just open up a bottle of Roe and Co Irish whiskey that was gifted to me this weekend and it was actually pretty good for a $30 bottle. It is blended and not sure what it is finished in but it did not blow me away as far as flavor goes but it was solid.

Love the "if you like this kind of bourbon, try this" segment. Having not tried either of these Teelings yet (but will soon); Happy to see Teeling small batch do so well, with Teeling Single Pot Still being a more likely competitor to Redbreast 12yr and still a little cheaper, here in Oregon at least. Cheers.

Great review. Had some RB12 and liked it. Found a place that carries RB15 and it is absolutely amazing. With that being said, I can't spend that much on Irish Whiskey since I love my boubon and would rather go that route on higher end bottles.

Another great review David. I really enjoyed the breakdown at the end of how each may compare to a Bourbon or Rye. Wish more reviewers would do things like this. I may have to steal that idea 😅. You deserve more views than you have 👏👍

I drank a lot of Jameson Black, and then a friend recommended Bushmill's Black Bush, I I think it is better.

As a beginner which is the smoothest ranked please? Or maybe top 3 smoothest in that list?

RB15 and Greenspot are my two favourites of the readily available irish whiskeys. RB21 and Blue Spot hands down beat them both by some margin

I tried the Redbreast 12 and it was phenomenal. I figured it would be no. 1. I need to go get another one. I sold the first bottle to a friend. I haven't seen any green, yellow or red dots in Mass yet, but, I'm keeping eye out on them. Enjoyed ur video.

Redbreast 12 is great but my favourite is Powers 12. Green spot is really nice too. I do love Irish whiskey. I've had the teeling single malt I didn't enjoy it too many different casks involved in the maturation.

I bought the Powers Gold and really liked it, but will keep my eye out for the 12, thanks!

I’d love to see more of the speakeasy and how you’ve got it setup for content creation, do you only use it for videos? Or is there an out of shot seating area that’s “your hangout spot” , I’m currently building my bourbon basement and fishing for design ideas
@johncashion84283 жыл бұрын
I’d like to see the entire basement also.
@theonerow3 жыл бұрын
I built the space as a place to put all of my whiskey once I started collecting… then added a bar top counter on one wall and decorated it as a place to sit and have a drink away from everyone… Then I got the idea to start making KZbin videos and that has kind of taken over the space. I'll do a video soon where I can show the collection I have, the space, and the equipment I'm using for videos

This St. Patrick's Day I'll be drinking Roe & Co. It's got a bit more oomph than Jameson at 45% and, I think, a bit more flavour. But that could be because I've had so many Jamesons over the years, I just can't tell any more. I also, recently, enjoyed the Teeling Single Malt, though, I think that's outside the scope of this vid. I would suggest avoiding The Irishman single malt, however, and Glendalough Double Barrel, too, as they were very disappointing to me.
@theonerow3 жыл бұрын
I haven't seen the Roe&Co or the Teeling SM yet, but will keep my eye out for them. I passed on buying the irishman when i saw it in the store because of the mixed reviews.
@pherzb3 жыл бұрын
@@theonerow I think the Roe & Co will start appearing more as it's Diageo. I've poured a wee one just now and it has some nice citrus notes which sets it apart from Jameson's. As a side note the master blender is a woman which I think is happening more in whiskey and that's a good thing. Liking the channel, by the way, l live in Austria (though English) and am more of a scotch drinker. I'm trying to explore bourbon and rye and already had some good tips from your videos (High West Double Rye was a revelation for me). Cheers.

I've seen rumors about the Redbreast 12 CS being discontinued soon. Not sure if it's true, but damn is the 12 CS great. I've got a couple of backups. Cheers.
@theonerow3 жыл бұрын
I've heard that from others and will have to try to find a bottle. I just saw on a store inventory a redbreast 15 at a store not far from me I might go try to snag tomorrow
@TheThornicator3 жыл бұрын
@@theonerow 15 is also great. I feel like you almost can't go wrong with one of their whiskys. Irish is still in 3rd place as far as categories go for me, but Redbreast 12, 12 CS, 15, and 21 have all been amazing imo.

If you are a bourbon guy who enjoyed RB12, which has some sherry, and are Scotch curious then I think you will enjoy Glenmorangie Lasanta (bourbon barrel aged with 2 year sherry finish) and Glendronach 12 (sherry cask matured).
