I Love the Eagles, I can honestly say I have seen them every year they came out in Concert. I even went to see The Out Of Eden Concert twice to try to understand WHY it was such a horrible experience... Could not figure it out though, it was not the Eagles Concert I love going to. I am very sorry... I Love Glen Frye and miss his wonderful voice. May he Rest In Peace...😔 I also Love Timithy B. Schmitt, humble and quiet but beautiful voice, stay healthy my friend. The songs The Eagle sang all those years ago helped me through some very hard times in my life. Thankfully I made through to say Thank-you to the Eagles...

Don? Glen? Randy? Bernie? Felder? Joe? Tim? Come on guys....everybody who has been a member of this band has contributed to their success. Bernie Leadon's multi-instrumental skills in the early days. Randy'd high notes on "Take it to the Limit", "One of these Nights" and the origianal version of "Seven Bridges Road". Joe Walsh's crazy antics and his raunchy chain saw guitar riffs. Felder's amazing skills as a guitar God. Henley and Frey's voices and songwriting. They all deserve credit!

Frey was known as a bully who also used physical abuse on other band members. Eagles took Randy then Timothy from Poco,too bad Poco didn't make it big,bad marketing because Timothy is Poco with Rusty and they stayed true too their music all the way through.Eagles are great Poco is better way more albums than Eagles just sayin my opinion and I'm sticking to it!
@nicholasselke521411 ай бұрын
I fully respect your opinion and can see it from your angle. I think what made the Eagles more prevalent in the world of music was the diversification of their sound; each album had its own identity per se While both bands are great, I still think the Eagles are better than Poco. But I also understand that without Poco, the Eagles wouldn’t have been nearly as successful. They would’ve been the remnants of Linda Ronstadt’s backup band with maybe a couple of songs worthy of airplay. Poco changed the course of music history, and I’ll always have a soft spot for them

Randy wrote and sang the first million-seller song of the Eagles (even though it was never promoted), thus getting the Eagles well into the limelight. Not one of the other Eagles (then and now) could sing and hit the high notes like Randy did in Take It To The Limit. They *all* had substance abuse issues .. but Randy left the Eagles after many years of bullying and abuse (including physical) by Frey and Henley .. check out this video clip, just after the 3 minute mark Frey is throwing a tantrum at Randy and double punches the air right near Randy’s head while Randy is performing ! ... kzbin.info/www/bejne/p3fan4mgYr-Ejc0. When Randy finally popped and hit back it was well deserved and not a moment too soon; all who ever met him call Randy the sweetest most humble guy .. so imagine how much provocation it took to make him pop. All Randy wanted was for five guys to enjoy making music together. He and Bernie Leadon wrote many beautiful songs but self-appointed leaders Frey and Henley got to decide which songs would be sung and who would sing them. So for the two most talented and experienced guys in the band (Meisner and Leadon) they got this band out of obscurity and then were relegated to playing backup to the “Frey and Henley show”. Sad to know that 3 founding members of the legal entity called Eagles Inc left because of the Egoes of Frey and Henley, yet early footage shows that Frey and Henley were the rookies and that the Eagles became noticed in the first place because of the talent and experience of Randy Meisner and Bernie Leadon - their beautiful harmonies and instrumental prowess - and not because of Frey and Henley. Note also that Joe Walsh and Timothy Schmit are not members of Eagles Inc despite their long association with Eagles ... they are paid per performance and do not share in the profits of Eagles Inc ..only the remaining members of Eagles Inc share that profit ie Frey, Henley and manager Irv Azoff .. it’s all about money

I'm glad henley has drifted away (other than these 'make a buck' tours every few years) so I don't have to hear his hypocrisy. Watch that 60 minutes episode done on them just a few years back and even Steve Kroft could see there isn't much more than four guys who don't much like each other getting together to make money. Fine... but I'm glad Felder sued and won and gets his cut regardless of whether he is there or not.

Mistie Goins, Hi Mistie. I'll feel like an idiot if I'm wrong (I probably am). I had no knowledge in these 40 years that Felder had lyrical input on Hotel California. I was always under the impression Don H. did the duties for the most part on that front with Glenn. I thought Don F. wrote some key parts of the melody. I suppose that's how we still learn. I cannot believe I was 16 when that record was released. Can't believe Glenn is gone. It hurts me to see supposed Eagle fans fighting about who the biggest asshole in the band was, when we should be happy their music was/is such a huge part of our lives. Thanks for your post.

@ingfig14 жыл бұрын
.. check your facts. Felder was *not* “just a hired hand” .. he was a member of the legal entity called Eagles Inc and was thus entitled to an equal share of the profits. He was quite right to ask questions when he noticed large sums of money missing from the account of Eagles Inc .. which amounts to embezzlement. Joe Walsh and Timothy Schmit are the “hired hands” who were unfairly never made members of Eagles Inc despite their many years of playing with the band and their wonderful contributions to the band’s continued success after the real geniuses left (Randy Meisner and Bernie Leadon and Don Felder), all 3 of them founding members and members of Eagles Inc , leaving only Frey and Henley to “share” the profits of Eagles Inc.. Without Felder there would have been no Hotel California. Without Randy and Bernie there would have been no Eagles, but just another country rock wannabe band still playing in pubs... It was Randy’s high voice and sweet harmonies with Bernie that gave the Eagles their unique sound and which attracted the attention of the record producers.

@@ingfig1 It's very strange to read "hired hand" and Joe Walsh in the same sentence. He is a success all on his own. As a fan of the Eagles music, not one member of the band in its history is anything less than essential to the sound and the lyrics of their work.
@ingfig1 Жыл бұрын
@@lauragem796 .. yes Laura, strange indeed that Joe Walsh is paid to perform with Eagles, like a “hired hand”. But .. both he and Tim Schmit were not made members of the legal entity Eagles Inc when they joined Eagles and they are in fact paid to perform with Eagles. In my comment above I acknowledged the expertise and contributions of both Joe Walsh and Tim Schmit. I still stand by my statement that both Randy Meisner and Bernie Leadon, with their sweet harmonies and their excellent instrumentation, were the wings that enabled Eagles to soar above all the other wannabe country-rock bands in a crowded arena. Both Joe Walsh and Tim Schmit, great as they are, joined Eagles after the band had already become the success they were.
