Great video and looking forward to the upgrades. Looking forward to following these vids and doing upgrades at same time. If looking for another budget crawler look at the ecx barrage and RGT rock cruiser. These are great little crawlers.

Nice, A slipper clutch would be a good thing, and about the flex you don't want the front or rear tire to go higher than the tire that is on the ground like when you where lifting the front tire up... maybe the height of the rear top of the wheel or a bit more once it flexes and the front bottom of the tire like how you where lifting goes higher then the rear tire before the rear tire lifts off the ground then your rig will actually work worse, when you drive on a high incline and on like a angle it will then twist lift up the front tire so high and then the back twists a lot also then you tumble down and have a less stable truck. It looks good to me maybe use a bit thinner oil in the shocks they seem a bit sluggish looking.

shenlonco I may not need more articulation, but I want to experiment with the suspension settings. The shocks are a bit stiff, but without going to lighter springs, I think lighter oil would make the truck too bouncy. I'm going to try laying the shocks down first.

Yea.. I still think a bit lighter shock oil will work better it looks to sluggish.

Hey great video.ive been running the redcat Everest 10 for 6 years and the gen 7 for 3yrs.what I found is there great crawlers.ive upgraded to metal diff lockers with both models aluminum drive shafts with both models with the gen 7.I've replaced the shocks they just felt too stiff.even after lighting up the fluids.both redcat still have the plastic gears in the transmission.and the one thing I've noticed was they both suffered with not enough steering so I ordered redcat aluminum steering kit comes with both steering links with a radius and two two steering knucks

How have you been running a Gen7 for 3 years? They just came out last October.

Sorry your right gen 7 for the past year.i mistakenly was thinking of my ascends which is a great rtr

I checked Gen 7 on display at local hobby shop, it doesn't bottom out the rear drive shaft like you were describing. I would like to blame Redcat for cheap manufacturing, except the rear hexes on my Traxxas TRX4 were backwards! So I guess it comes down to mistakes happen. Good thing it's cheap (free) to fix.

skippy7399 maybe they fixed the issue after the first run. I know this was a common complaint among the first of us who got the trucks.

Yea was bummed out to see the sport without metal gears. Slipper gear or non slipper I keep my trail and crawler trucks plastic if that fails that 5 bucks to replace. repairing axles isn't fun and I have done it plenty of times. Great review went over the key parts us crawler guys look at
@BudgetRC_Channel7 жыл бұрын
redline6871 I don't have the video up yet, but I upgraded the kockers and front axles already. The axles are a very snug fit into the plastic lockers. If you don't abuse your truck, I think the plastic lockers will last a while.

Yea I do the comps and would like to give the axial and traxxas guys a run for their money. Those plastic trans gear kill me though. I'm curious to see if any axial parts will fit on that rig and would really just like to open everything up on that truck.
@BudgetRC_Channel7 жыл бұрын
redline6871 at least one of the axial trans gears is different, but Redcat has promised metal gears very soon. Most of the axial axle parts will fit with minor mods. Most of the suspension parts are generic enough to work too.

How much run time did you get out of the stock battery
@BudgetRC_Channel6 жыл бұрын
I never ran it long enough to kill it, but I'd say an hour or more of slow crawling. I never trailed it. With my lipo, I can go 1.5 hours or more on half of my 5000mah pack.

Can we mount jeep hard plastic body on it??
@BudgetRC_Channel6 жыл бұрын
This truck has a 12.5" wheelbase, just like the SCX10. As long as the hard body has an appropriate wheelbase it should work fine once you fabricate the mounts

So what do I need to do to run 3s on my pro
@BudgetRC_Channel5 жыл бұрын
Plug it in. The ESC is 3s compatible. I've been running 3s since I installed the portals.
