On 1:1 vehicles, I typically prefer black wheels, but I have the lime green Gen8 and I actually like the look of the chrome wheels on it. Thanks for the comparisons. I've really been liking the stock tires, so after seeing your test I didn't feel no need to upgrade at this point.

Interesting - I have never had that happen with all of the miles on a Gen8 I have. Still - anytime you have a metal screw going into a metal part: use blue loctite!

In my modified Axial scx 10 i went so far and skipped the foam = awsome in rocky conditions but the wheels takes about 30 minutes of driving to get the round shape back😆😅

Wow RedCat really did improve the tire set from the previous version. I think its the improved foams that came out with it combined with their Super Swampers that did it for this comparo.

I cut every other lug in the center off of my stock tires and run the tire backwards and it does pretty good

Honestly, I have researched what other folks have done, and really looked over the stock tires. I am not convinced that cutting the stock tires would actually help anything. That is why I never came back and did a video on it.

Duratraxs deep woods are great tire for that truck I have them on my GEN seven and I have a set of aftermarket aluminum rims beadlocks and they work really good. Great video! Keep them coming! 😎🤙

I think it was a tie between the stock tires and the Canyon Trails. I have a couple Gen 8's and I actually comp with the Canyon Trails on my comp rig, I followed your video and modified them.

I would like to see the foams in each one, are they vented or not vented? Because them stock tires really suck, I have all of them tires plus the proline Krawlers and the stock Redcat’s are by far the worst

The foams and venting sure have an impact for sure. All were setup exactly as they come out of the package - no modifications. Agree - I was surprised how well the stock tires did. I wonder if they have made some changes with this latest version?

I am a fan of the Trx tyres too especially when they are worn in a little. But i also think the proline looked pretty good on the rocks

Dont know if you had thought about it but if you reverse the treads on the Gen8 the ability goes through the roof when crawling. Not much difference when trailing, but a huge difference when crawling! Just a little thing I found on my Gen8 Axe edition! Hope it helps for the future!

Got this same rig . Love it but seems to roll over a lot. Especially when taking faster turns with the 3s battery. Thought about adding some kind of weight. Maybe in battery tray below battery. Any recommendations?

Typically with a crawler - you won't be doing high speed turns. Honestly. However, if you are going to add weight, it needs to be done to the front of the truck, and on the axle. I understand that for sure! Honestly, this truck has really performed well once I finished this upgrade series. I mean, I am VERY happy with it. Does just as well as vehicles that cost MUCH more. Fortunately, some of the upgrades are not expensive. If you can save up some, it really makes a huge difference. Good luck, and feel free to ask questions along the way!

Hi bro! If one day you have the chance to try Louise tires you should try the "Cr Rowdy" they got both sizes 1.9 & 2.2 The traxxas canyon trail tires are very good too

I don’t think there was a HUGE difference between the Proline Super Swamper and the Stock tires. I don’t think you can go wrong with either one; driving techniques even out the playing field. I have all 3 tires and I go with the stock wheel and tire bc of the old school look. Nice vid liked and subbed. ✊🏾
