To this day, that original Power Rangers theme is still one of the best "GO GO POWER RANGERS!" Ron Wasserman is the man!

I think the Jackass game for PS2 is a lot of fun. One of the minigames--they're all minigames--is called Pachinko Precipice. You throw one of the guys down a hill and wrack up as many injuries as you can by tilting the playfield left and right to gain momentum on the ragdoll. The scores are then delivered to you in dollar amounts with accompanying x-rays, ha ha. I keep coming back to that one in particular, so that's my PS2 rec for today. Love the videos.

Playing this game solo is pretty funny because your Ranger will CONSTANTLY say things like, "Guys, can I get some help?!" and it implies the rest are just hanging off screen like, "Nahhh, you got this! Morphenominal!"

There needs to be a modern PR game based off the snes games by the original devs, like what occurred for Wild Guns and Ninja Warriors.

You would need Might Morphin Sega Genesis/Sega CD/SNES/Game Gear, Mighty Morphin the Movie Genesis/SNES/Game Gear, Might Morphin the Fighting Edition, Power Rangers Zero racer. The GBA games like Wild Force, Time Force, and SPD would be cool too.

It's weird how I watched TMNT pretty frequently as a kid because it was on TV and it got a new reboot every few years but Power Rangers I never watched or even heard about. Like maybe I met one other kid who liked them but they have not translated over to gen Z much I don't think, that recent live action movie wasn't popular either and that was directly targeting the younger generation. I think kids nowadays just watch Japanese anime directly from the source and don't even bother with the Americanized version lol
@Marisquizo11
@Marisquizo11 5 күн бұрын
Have to disagree here. I'm gen Z and Power Rangers was THE cool thing that every boy was into. The toys definitely did heavy lifting. I didn't even know what TMNT was back then. This is probably a regional thing instead of a generational one.

I'm just old enough to not be a fan of MMPR at all, so Rita's Revenge just kind of whooshes over my head. But if they made the same thing, but Thundercats... I think I'd be all in. Anyway, Digital Eclipse who has a series of great documentary games like Atari 50, so I know their heart was in the right place at least. They also made Cowabunga Collection, so maybe that's where the confusion is that they made Shredder's Revenge (which again, they didn't).

i think your criticisms for Rita's Rewind are mostly valid, although i think for many people the criticisms wouldnt have been as harsh if the had game launched at a more fair twenty dollar price point. im unsure why this game was ever compared to Shredder's Revenge besides consumer ignorance. it was never marketed as such, is made by a different team, and production value for MMPR games has typically been lower than that of Turtles games. however, as a love letter to the original show, it really ticks all of the boxes for me. i dont think it needed some deeper, overarching story as it captures the cheesy "monster of the week" vibe of the early show almost perfectly like i hoped for. so many MMPR games go for the epic narrative so i really appreciated the simplicity of future and past Rita teaming up to take down the rangers. i enjoyed Rita's Rewind enough to 100% it and play it for almost seventeen hours, and i suspect ill return to it again for more co-op with friends too. the visual aesthetic is top notch, and i will definitely disagree on the music which i found stellar as well. the beat 'em up gameplay is very competent and satisfying, with five standard moves and a room clearing special move for each ranger. all the rangers play similarly, but also have their own feel which is noticable to a seasoned beat 'em up player. the Zord levels are very solid and enjoyable, and i enjoyed the motorcyle levels too, although the latter were quite short. im surprised you didnt touch on the boss battles which were really fun and well done. i loved rewatching early episodes of the show after playing the game and comparing how the monsters had been portrayed in game, which was very faithful. the Megazord fights were definitely the weakest part of the game, and i dont think the devs had much faith in them since you can't actually lose/game over on them. the game definitely has a lot of gameplay variety, with all of the previously mentioned levels, side segements like the rollercoaster ride, collectibles/secrets/level goals, and the three surprisingly addictive arcade games in the juice bar which are SO much better than they have any right to be. for the discounted thirty dollars i paid for it at launch on Steam, i cant complain much. it was a nostalgic fantastic time and got me watching the original series which i barely saw back in the day. i loved the game even MORE pre launch patch and i wish there was an option to switch between versions. the slower ranger gameplay was more reminiscent of Streets Of Rage 2 combat, and the harder Zord levels got me actually having to practice like a real shmup game. i havent played the 16 bit MMPR games, ill definitely need to try those on my Miyoo Mini soon!

There's not really a ton of good PR games outside of some okay SNES beat 'em ups. There's not even many good Sentai games you could pretend are PR ones. Which is a shame since Kamen Rider and Ultraman have decent games in quite a few console generations
