Would you mind supplying to the two links for the cummerbund that you’re talking about? I’ve thought about running a hard structured one, but I just don’t know what would be best to integrate with the MSV.

Finally, always good to see another video and see how different carriers all have different quirks for setup. Something I'll point out to end users is that many of the gripes with the USMC PC Gen 3 also apply to the Army MSV. I recommend watching the ones from Shaw Concepts and Local Skinwalker in particular once you've gotten familiar with the MSV to see what the Marines have done to mod their kit. For example, you can remove the inner, low-pro vest, then remove the ballistic panel from that and insert the panel back into the main carrier for the same level of protection (the inner carrier is just laminate and cordura, no ballistic protection), while also streamlining and reducing weight and bulk (there may be extra slop from the excess material so paracord is your friend). Also the zippers on the side plate pouches like to "walk" so its recommended you either gum up the zipper track, or you can purchase 7x8 side plate pouches from DFNDR armor (which is what I use) and they are both more comfortable and breathable and use the traditional velcro closure. I will also echo swapping the cummerbund out to something with First Spear tubes. Either the ones from Shaw or Defense Mechanisms because they bring the usable molle columns right to the edge of the placard area so you don't have to mount pouches around the big buckles. The Shaw one also uses a shock cord attachment while the DM uses built in elastic, both are stiff enough to support side plates and gear while also allowing flex for breathability.

As someone who is running an MSV with the Arbor arms cummberbund there is no issue with the elasitc and holding side plates. They keep them tight to my sides but still allow the carrier to breath and move with me. Overall its an excellent quality of life upgrade!

Great review! I have the MSV myself and have done some upgrades to fit my needs. What I like about your videos is that your not afraid to show the cheaper airsoft pouches alot of people forget that some soldier just don’t have the money to spend on big name brand gear but good cheaper alternatives that are enough to be durable and not to break the bank. Also easy to replace if it gets messed up in the field. Great work keep it up!

I like to run the slick internal carrier with a cheap elastic cummerbund. My unit requires side plates so I kept the original cummerbund attached to the front plate bag, kind of like the blue force gear plate6 and folded the excess around the side plate bags. Only down side is the hook and loop is horrible, when worn it has enough tension to not matter though.

@Legion Preparedness What's your opinion on True North Concepts modular holster adapter? Any personal use and thoughts. How does it compare against the Safariland? Thanks :)
@LegionPreparedness10 күн бұрын
@@danielney6 I think it’s a really cool product and is incredibly versatile. However, it doesn’t work well for me. I’m not a fan of the fit, feel, belt and leg strap attachment methods, and it feels like it restricts movement for me compared to the safariland. It works for a lot of people which is awesome. But I honestly prefer the safariland.

How do the measurements work for this one ? If I wear a medium IOTV it would be the same for the msv or I can go down in sizes ?

Wish I had an answer I had to return the one I borrowed. Am in the process of trying to get another one.

Depends on how u like ur kit, they have way less material then iotvs so if u run a medium id get a small. If ur a bigger person u could run a medium but they have good adjustability.

I think your videos are great and have taken some of your advice gear wise. That said, if you’re going to mention gear in a 30 minute video, can you at least post a picture if you’re not going to have it on hand?
