I hadn’t the courage to ask about your time at American Apparel and how you felt as a stoic in Rotterdam … and now you answered it. Thank you very much.

After years of depression and a lot of insecurities, stoicism is really helping me to grow day by day, controlling my thoughts and building confidence. Thank you for introducing me to this great philosophy Ryan.

10 years ago I was contemplating a very dark decision. If you had told me then how much I would have to endure over the next decade, I probably would have given up entirely. I only discovered stoicism last summer. It has helped me realise that I did manage to overcome all those challenges, perhaps not in the best way but I managed it. Going forward I know what I'm capable of, I know what my duty is to both myself and to the people around me, and I think I'm able to do what I need to do to get better.

I'm currently trying to rebuild a life that I once doused with gas and set alight. Near giving up, I grabbed my copy of Meditations in an attempt to find a lifeline. And find one I did. Which led me to Ryan and his books that I could listen to in the audio format. Which in turn led me to pursuing a life of character and personal responsibility. I now have a compass to help me navigate life and a mentor in Ryan. Salute, Amigo!

Thank you. I love the idea that Marcus was writing to practice stoicism and we are the beneficiaries of that practice. Thank you for your encouragement.

Ryan - I love your content... thank you for doing a channel like this!! Quick thought - Imagine a person who grew up in the foster kid system, being bounced around from one place to the next, never really having a chance to build relationships with anyone who might be able to teach them all those skills, concepts, habits, and techniques that successful parents take the intentional time to teach their children as they're growing up... that person then ages out of the system, goes on to college and lives in the dorms because that's the best option for a roof over their head, but they're so far behind that they do their best to catch up, but they don't know what they don't know so they don't know the right questions to ask and the right places to look for help. They then graduate and get into their 30's and 40's and still feel so far behind because they just never got those foundational life lessons that so many other kids grow up getting, let alone, the life lessons many learn in college because they were set up so well for success by their parents before they even got there... so they're still behind and still struggling. THAT is me - and THAT is thousands of other people, believe it or not. What I would give to see you put together a complete video series that really digs in deep, starts with the basics, and then works its way up to learning how successful adults set themselves up for a well prepared and prosperous life. What are the habits they do each day? How do they organize they life and themself too? What do successful people know about money that poor people don't seem to get? What are those things successful people do differently that set them apart? I think you get where I'm going... I would sure love to see you do a full complete video series on basically, how to adult and how to adult successfully - there are so many more people out there who need this just as much as I do. I'm just the only one saying it. Any chance you'd be willing to do something of that nature? I'd sure be grateful if you did. (I need a step by step kind of game plan... I missed it all growing up.)

i remember feeling like i was always the one fading into the background while others stood out effortlessly. it was frustrating and made me doubt myself a lot. then i came across this book, Magnetic Aura by Takeshi Mizuki, and it showed me things i’d never even considered. it’s not just a self-help book; it’s like a guide to understanding your own energy and using it to connect with people. if you’ve ever felt like you’re not seen, this book might change everything.

Good stuff as usual. Let’s lop off the self-aggrandizement at the front. It’s always nicer to have people say nice things about ourselves rather than our saying it and quoting others saying nice things about us is a sneaky way to do that. Stay humble. Pride goeth before a fall.

One of my 2025 goals is to ratchet up my stoic game. I'm looking to you as a great resource for this. You appear to have a strong brand. I want to listen during workouts. I was confused when i saw you had some content with Dr Fauci. This gave me pause. How would you be involved with him?

I think the writer of the book he picked up, is talking about those podcast bros (thinking of Andrew Tate here) that pretend to be a stoic instead of our guy Ryan here who at least seems to live or strive to live the life of a stoic.

there was a time when i kept wondering why some people seemed to naturally draw others in while i was just…there. no matter what i tried, i couldn’t figure out how they did it. then someone mentioned the book Magnetic Aura by Takeshi Mizuki, and i decided to check it out. the way it explains how your aura affects everything around you? it blew me away. it’s like having a secret code to unlock your magnetic energy. this book is a game-changer.

i used to think being magnetic was just about looks or confidence, but i couldn’t have been more wrong. i read this book called Magnetic Aura by Takeshi Mizuki, and it totally changed my perspective. it breaks down the energy and mindset behind true attraction in a way that just makes sense. once i started applying what it taught, i noticed people reacting to me differently almost instantly. it’s seriously worth a read.

i remember this one time i felt like no matter what i did, people just didn’t notice me. i tried everything-confidence boosters, social tips, you name it-but nothing seemed to work. then i found this book, Magnetic Aura by Takeshi Mizuki, and it completely shifted how i saw myself. it’s not just about being noticed; it’s about understanding the energy you project. honestly, this book made all the difference for me. if you’ve ever felt invisible, you need to read it.

It’s silly to think that Ryan chose an obscure ancient philosophy to literally devote his life to without it having meaning to him. And, hey, Buddha was born a prince. Depth CAN happen within oneself.

Ryan, I admire you, and I like you. I have listened to about half of your talk in Sydney, and it's great. You and I have something in common, neither of us are naturally good speakers, but you have developed into a good speaker, and I congratulate you for that. Good work. What I am about to tell you is, I know, a little old fashioned, but it is important to me. Please stop saying the "F" word, at least in a public speech. When you say this word, it demeans you, and it demeans what you are saying, and it is completely unnecessary. How does saying this word benefit the audience? I do not thing it does. How does it benefit you? As I said above I do not think it does. I know you are a thoughtful person. So, I assume you have thought your position on this through? If you see this message, I would love to see your response. Best, Jim Domino

How arrogant to think that your assessment of his language, based on nothing more than your own culture and values and background, should determine what he should and should not say. People say Fuck, it's a common expression, it actually makes people feel at ease, it lends a casual tone. Personally I appreciate when an academic can speak to their audience the way they speak to a friend and the way the audience speaks to each other. I am bothered by people imposing their values on strangers and saying that their language isn't the correct language because it isn't the language that YOU want to hear. The world doesn't owe you a life filled with all of your favourite words and nothing else. You must have an issue with a lot of movie directors and screenwriters and authors and podcasters and musicians and regular folks who express themselves differently than you'd prefer.
