I’m excited to try these. I found the heel on the 6 went flat rather quickly. The 5’s were nice despite the tongue. I prefer a more firm shoe as too plush allows my left ankle to flex too much. The Vanish series is great.

I still have 4 unworn pairs. I horded them when they were discontinued. The quantic midsole is so much better than ego

Quick update. Got my Torin 7s yesterday and have done 2 runs. They feel like the 4.5 again, especially the forefoot cushioning. They feel a little heavier to me but I am very happy

Im watching this hoping to hear that it’s closer to the qualtric foam. Based on this thread I suppose it’s worth a try fingers crossed!

Thank you for this run down. Recently got a pair of Torin 7 Wide and much happier than prior versions (well, except the 4s of course).

I liked the 6. I’ll try the 7 but there was no need to add stack height.

Trialing these as a replacement for the Vans Ultrarange for a daily casual shoe. Very comfortable. Fit and comfort were a bit better than the Lone Peak, but I do think the Lone Peak is closer to the Ultrarange in terms of cushioning and upper.

No ground feel whatsoever? Hmmmm. I loved the Torin 4 for that reason. It had enough stack and cushion while still providing really good ground feel in my opinion. Same as the Escalante Racer. Currently running in the Escalante 3. Firm out of the box and finally loosening up. Don't love it but it's OK for now. Thanks for the sneak peek/review!

I had major issues with the tongue on the 6 sliding to the outside and had to continuously adjust it to the center. Never had this problem with the 4's and I guess it has to do with the 4's being gusseted while the 6 are not? Can anyone tell me if the tongue slides to the side on the 7's ?

Ryan, would you say the Ego Max formulation for the T7 matches the feel from the Via Olympus. I'm a little concerned about your comments to that effect because I love how both the Torin 6 and Paradigm 6 feel in that respect. I actually returned my Via Olympus because I felt the midsole was too stiff.
@RyansRunningReviewsYT

Definitely softer than the Via Olympus! It’s nowhere near as firm as that

Which altra shoe would you recommend for first time altra users who mainly run 5ks and up to 10ks?

I just checked it out at rei and thought it was another very good shoe. It seems a bit “tougher” than the 6. For me I think it’s awesome. I am looking to use it to walk to work, or leisurely etc, so I want something comfortable where my feet can just relax and take me longer especially in an urban environment where it’s likely to be concrete like 95 or 100% of the walk in NYC! So for me this shoe is a lifesaver! I can’t stand the narrow toes of regular shoes, and their “drops!” I am looking forward to the wide versions when they’re released. And I also hope they continue making the leather version!!! I am between. 13 wide and a 14 wide, so I don’t know yet if I’ll do the 13 or 14 with this one. In the 6, I ended up going with the 14 wide and it’s perfect, but perhaps slightly too long for me. The 13 was a bit squishy for me even in the wide, but the 14 wide was great out of the box so I went with it! So I’ll be on the look out when the wides come in!!! I just got the 14 wide in the 6 cause they’re on sale now with the 7 coming out soon. But I’d like to get the 7 too when it comes. I am willing to spend extra to give my feet the comfort they need to take me further in the concrete jungle!!!!

Did i unterstand correct that they increased stack height but made cushion more stiff? Why? That why many disliked Via Olimpus...whats purpose of having 33mm stack with cushion of Escalante?...

Hi! I had and loved the 6, great fit in U.K. size 10. Then I bought the torrin 7 and they fit completely different - they felt very long and more than the typical thumbs width between end of shoe and longest toe - did anyone else find this? Did anyone go down a half size between the torrin 6 and the 7? (Never tried the 9.5 U.K.)

I started running about two years ago and I’ve only used to ASICS gel cumulus 23. They have over 200 miles on them and I’m ready to try something new. They have a 10 mm drop and a 23 mm heel. I really don’t wanna go any thicker on the foam just because I don’t think it’s necessary. Are there any cons to having a 30 mm foam sole?

Are the upgrades/updates on the 7 worth upgrading from the 6? On Amazon, the torin 6 is roughly $65 US. The 7 is roughly $140 US. Ive been using the 6 for about 4 months for crossfit/HIIT and i like it. The only dislike is the tongue sucks and it wears kinda fast.

Actually the older torin 6 was 25 mm stack and the 7 has 28 mm stack. (Source: runrepeat cutting the shoes in half and measuring with calipers)

I guess cause I wear more minimal shoes I just got a pair brand new at pretty really cheap price of the sixes and just aware of the work you know walking around I’m on my feet a lot and I’m having trouble to get used to how high it feels off of the ground I think a different shoe would be like lower in the front and higher in the heelbut when it’s high everywhere to me it feels like I’m on still get used to it there semi comfortable the uppers not the world’s greatest but I know about the issue and shouldn’t be an issue because like I said I’m at work I guess socks on but enjoy the video. I’m just lazy Shoes keep getting higher and higher. I guess I’m too old.

Overpriced for the quality, or rather lack there of. Had a pair of 6es and on one side the midfood cage wasnt sown in at all, making the shoe very uncomfortable at all. Impossible not to notice in the factory. So they apparently dont hire trained personal and then dont have proper quality control, but still demand top dollar at 150 bucks. That's a crazy price. I guess they knew of this problem eventually and that's why they didnt put in the "cage" in the 7s.

More stack height, not available in original foot shape. No thanks. I’m sticking to Escalante 3 for everyday use and Lone Peak All Weather for hiking.
