I was on opiates and benzos for a majority of my adulthood. I put together 3 years sober and relapsed. I’ll have a year sober again in 6 weeks. This song describes exactly what it was like to relapse and wake up on my front porch to my family standing over home saying people have been trying to get ahold of me for 9 hours and they had to break into my apartment just to fine me unconscious messed up beyond belief. Luckily I wasn’t dead or clinically overdosed. I was just an empty shell of the person I am slowly fading out. This song describes that moment in my life perfectly.
