🌴 hey my friend well that pattern is just what I needed , just scored an older 2 pc. Orvis 9’-8wt med action graphite rod at the flea market for $20 bucks ( like I needed another freak’n rod 😆) but I thought it would be a good red fish ,snook rod , it looks like new , I guess I’m gonna have to start an Estrada fly box 😄 👍🏼👊🏼

Love the simplicity man. A little surprised that the bead chain flips that thing
@Eric.Estrada7 ай бұрын
If you put the bead chain in the right spot it does. It can’t be up close by the hook eye. Has to be further back for it to flip the hook.

Very sexy bug. I started tying these after you did the video tied in black and purple a couple years ago. These work in a jillion colors and weights for everything: reds tarpon bones snooks peas….even rainbows browns cutthroats n brooks in the Rocky’s 👍🏻

Haha yeah man. It’s wild I have caught so much diversity on these simple patterns that just get the job done.

That bunny gives really good movement, i would throw a pice of mono through it becouse that one will for sure fowl.
@Eric.Estrada Жыл бұрын
I actually left out a part where I talk about fowl guards. I’m personally not a fan. Yeah, it’ll occasionally fowl up. But I prefer the more natural movement of the fly without the fowl guard. Fowl guards tend to make the tail lose half of its action. And the ones that don’t are when you poke a hole through the hide and go through the hide with the fowl guard but then the tail breaks off after a fish or two. I rather get more bites and del with an occasional fowling. I’m not blind casting, so I’m casting less. Less chances to fowl up. Make shots count.

@@Eric.Estrada good points! That’s why we tie, the flies aren’t all cookie-cutter everyone has there own style. Great vid man

It might be on the Jackson Kayak youtube channel. I did a few fly tying videos on their channel like 5 years ago. Search my name and Jackson Kayak. If not, check my tarpon fly video. That might be it, too.
