I'm not a Redline collector myself but I think they're some of the most beautiful Hot Wheels ever made I just want to say you do good work sir thank you. keep on preserving something that should be. :)

Wow, for this being made in '69 this looks like a hotwheels car that could be made today. Still looks good/futuristic.

It's just so satisfying watching your restoration and customization videos. I have a huge collection of hot wheels and matchbox cars, all new and on card, with maybe 60 on display. I'm not hard core and I don't have any idea if they're worth anything as I only buy what I like. I am going to expand what I do in this hobby now due to your vids and others giving me the desire to fix the old classics.

Have you ever tried the resin from a Fix a Windshield kit to fix the cracks in the plastic? It may be an automotive product, but it could work on toy windshields if you can get the resin to get in the cracks.

Hey Baremetal, I'm currently working on a non-hotwheels related project that needs some paint. I'm interested in spectraflame, but I'm not sure if it's a good idea. In order to get enough spectraflame paint to cover a few square feet of surface, how much expense am I looking at? And is spectraflame a suitable paint for painting on top of another finish, such as satin clearcoat?

Question: for divots and dents in the body that can't be sanded or pounded out (or covered with primer), why wouldn't you consider using an auto body filler, like Bondo?
@jamesschulziii90987 жыл бұрын
Anthony Wheeler I don't see why not.
@jamesschulziii90987 жыл бұрын
I mean as long as it dries and can be lightly sanded heck I'd try it if a pit or dent was big enough and nothing else was working.

Could you give us a more specific name or link to the small axlebending you showed? I don't really have a lot of tools, but i sure do have a lot of childhood cars i'm a afraid to damage that i just want to straighten the axles for. When looking for axlebenders i just find really overly complicated and expensive ones for derpy pinecars. Can't wait to see more of your stuff.

does redline shop offer wheels that the center sticks out cause your right side wheels have a different look than the lefts with the centers
@baremetalHW7 жыл бұрын
you have a great eye... yeah I am not sure how I got those mixed up but the right side does have a different set than the left. I will pop them off and switch them out.
@bttfdmc19847 жыл бұрын
lol well i've looked at and own several redlines and just noticed they looked different. i thought they were the old re-issued one from mattel that had the center caps in place that were used on the 100% line and neo classics line. Also the left rear has a bad crack/split as well just to let you know.

@RetroZoneNeon7 жыл бұрын
So, I've been subbed for a while now and you always seem to struggle with getting the metal nice and polished for a good base under the paint. I saw on another channel that a guy wire brushed the body to remove the corrosion, then polished it with a dremel like you do with the paint. It came out nearly flawless, maybe you should give it a shot
@baremetalHW7 жыл бұрын
I have been moving away from polishing the metal all together... sometimes you luck out and get a car that can be polished.. but most of the time there are issues you can't polish out. This car for example had a large dent in the roof that would not be easy to remove.
@mantaholy68457 жыл бұрын
baremetalHW so... I do not do this stuff because 1: I lost most of my hotwheels and I do not wanna buy them and 2: I would probably dent the body while sanding. Basically, I would ruin the car somehow.
@RetroZoneNeon7 жыл бұрын
