omg when they talked about cleaning up drawings for inking and coloring.....dude i feel their pain, its an extremely tedious task even now with illustrator and stuff, for them it must have been hell. This is y i luv these old disney animations all of the hand art, and its y as an illustrator i chose to do my work by hand. there is a deep satisfaction you get knowing you created something solely with ur hands. :)

That guy is so right about whenever you hear Tchaikovsky you can see Sleeping Beauty. I heard it just the other day and could picture the entire finale of Sleeping Beauty in my head as I listened to it. :)

Mayweather did Lady? Oh my gosh!! I love Lady!! Disney did an amazing job at voices, I'm still scared of Malficent and its been almost 10 yrs since I watched it as a little kid with my sister. But I love this movie, Mary Costa was beautiful! And the most classy Disney movie ever! I watch it like every month on VCR (need to find the DVD)

I really wish there was some recording of Eleanor Audley referencing Maleficent. Think of how amazing it would be to see AND hear her as Maleficent! Funny how they knew right away who she was..Maleficent and Cinderella's stepmother really do look like Eleanor Audley did!

@henryadrain14 That clear paper is a cel. The animator's drawing would be copied onto it and then inked and painted. The cel would then be place against a background image and photographed onto film and that becomes the final image seen in the movie.

Out of all the characters in Disney films, I think the elephant matriarch from *Dumbo* is the MOST despicable character.

@dsneybuf You know, I actually think if the original opening song "Holiday" was in the final presentation of the theatrical release of Sleeping Beauty, it would've been a humiliating disappointment to the audience AND Disney himself where he would've actually kissed his career goodbye.

But if they were to include the Skumps sequence and picture song in the beginning it would have rightfully allow Aurora to gain screen time to develop her role as a character

Well, Bryan Sibley is maybe a smart guy, but he's also proof that s'one can perfectly be so and still too easily persuade himself of perfectly idiotic assessments. For many, Tchaikovsky's music is primarily and foremost associated to the ballet he wrote it for, and I'm not talking about ballet freaks only. Guess he lacks not intelligence but distance to afford him some perspective. Perhaps as an american Disney historian obsessed with his special field the thing is understandable, but still not very insightful.

Since the end of WWII until the present time, it has been fashionable among the inhabitants of Europe to point out, constantly and continuously, how “uncultured” and “unsophisticated” Americans are, about everything under the sun, and this rather unfortunate habit is often passed on from parents to children. I have met several Europeans who made it a point to tell me that I and my fellow Americans are “nothing more than children”, “stupid” and “have no sense of culture or sensibilities”. But I have also met many Europeans who were the truly superior people, who stated their opinions in a friendly manner, not like snobs. THEIR opinions matter to me. In any case, let us dispel the myth that claims that every European is a cultural paragon and expert about everything. By the way, Brian Sibley is a British writer, and as such, does not necessarily represent the opinions of all inhabitants of North America.

Toyuki1 There are lots of European who are uncultered and obnoxious and ignorant lol. What ppl mean when they reference Americans and uncultured and unsophisticated though it's probably because the americans tend to come off as arrogants about their ignorance and not humble, what with their "'Murica is the best country in the world!" etc etc lol
