I had a car repossessed years ago. I gave the repo guy the key at my door when he came for it. He was just doing his job. I could see no sense in trying to give repo people a hard time. Sometimes we just have to face the music no matter how much it hurts.

Same here when I was much younger. I didn’t hide the car, I was 3 months late and I knew they were coming lol. I sent the key in the mail. A payment every 30 days keeps the repo man away!

Better yet do the grown up thing if you fall on hard times do the responsible thing and cut back on things you can't afford, if you know the car is out of reach for now just call the company explain that right now do to what ever you can't afford payments become get it as soon as possible, then 9 times out of 10 later when your money issues are better they are more then likely they are going to be willing to work with you again, because you not only respected them but their property, and your financial situation as well...ITS CALLED RESPECT AND THE GOLDEN RULE !!!!

The Repo man knocked on my door at 8PM, he asked me to open my garage so that he could take the car. I said NO and told him I was going to CU first thing in the morning. Then I closed the door. I arrived at the CU at 8:30AM and before I could open my mouth they were apologizing for the mix-up and my account was up to date. Bottom line - Don't argue - find out the facts first.

Most of the times it's not a mixup some people are actually late on their payments and the lying knowing they are behind, and then getting mad at the repo company, when they need to get it right with the finance company before they send the repo company out for your vehicle.
