I'm a Chicago Blackhawks fan and enjoyed the likes of Kane and Toews. I started seeing Fedrick Anderson, Auston Matthews, and Mitch Marner because I was introduced to Toronto. Watched their first game against Minnesota back in 2019, and I had fun watching both teams. I was introduced to other players from different teams. It was odd to cheer for others for a while since it wasn't my main team. After a while, I started liking Hockey as a Sport in general. Pavol Demitra was definitely something else on another level. I wasn't into Hockey until I was 19 in 2019. I only started knowing about other players doing research. It is completely okay to watch other players on different teams. You are a Wings fan, so be proud of that, and be proud to see another incredible talent. I'm into Anaheim Ducks, Minnesota Wild, L.A. Kings, New York Rangers, Toronto Maple Leafs, Vancouver Canucks, Colorado Avalanche, Detroit Red Wings, San Jose Sharks, Pittsburg Penguins, and Carolina Hurricanes!

Another tough one to re-draft. My draft (before watching the video): 1. Chris Pronger - Shortened career, but still played a lot of games and won a Cup, Norris, and Hart. Was 3rd in Norris voting three times. 2. Paul Kariya - Definitely too short a career. Won two Lady Byngs and was 2nd in Hart voting in 1996-97 with 99 points in just 69 games. 3. Todd Bertuzzi - His peak was too hard to ignore. Unstoppable physical force in the dead puck era and scored 46 goals in 2002-03. 4. Saku Koivu - Consistent strong offensive player and great leader. 5. Kimmo Timonen - Was elite at the end of his Predators tenure and start of his Flyers tenure, finishing 5th in Norris voting in 2006-07. 6. Jason Arnott - Consistent 20-30 goal scorer and was clutch in the 2000 playoffs for the Devils. 7. Pavol Demitra - Steady reliable offense and peaked at 93 points in 78 games with the Blues in 2002-03. 8. Bryan McCabe - Finished 4th in Norris voting in 2003-04 and was a stud on the Maple Leafs blueline for years. 9. Miroslav Satan - Could be relied on for 25+ goals almost every year for several years. 10. Jamie Langenbrunner - Strong playmaker who could handle top six minutes in his prime. Also received a little Selke attention. 11. Vinny Prospal - Didn't seem to get worse as he aged and was still a solid 2nd line player in his mid 30s. 12. Andrew Brunette - Always seemed to score points--especially for the Avalanche in 2006-07 when he had 83 points. 13. Jason Allison - Short career, but was excellent, reaching 95 points with the Bruins in 2000-01. 14. Tommy Salo - Best goalie in the draft, was a solid starter for the Oilers in the early 2000s. 15. Brendan Morrison - Was the centre on the famous West Coast Express line in Vancouver, scoring 71 points in his best year. 16. Todd Marchant - Strong defensive 3rd line winger who received serious Selke consideration several times. 17. Chris Gratton - Started quite strong early with two 62-point seasons and was a steady middle six forward after that. 18. Viktor Kozlov - Slightly shorter career after he left for the KHL, but was a strong 2nd line centre for many years, albeit a bit inconsistent. 19. Rob Niedermayer - Won a Cup with his brother Scott in 2007 and was also a solid defensive centre who played over 1100 games. 20. Eric Daze - Huge player for a centre who had three 30+ goal seasons, but injuries kept him down. 21. Darcy Tucker - Tough as nails and loved by teammates and hated by opponents, Tucker could also put up points, especially once he joined the Leafs in 1999-00. 22. Scott Walker - Another tough player, especially early in his career, Walker had injuries, but still passed 50 points three times in his career. 23. Mike Grier - Great 3rd line winger who put up a few points, but also got Selke attention. 24. Adam Deadmarsh - Career ended early in a fight, but twice surpassed 60 points. 25. Hal Gill - This defensive behemoth had a very long career with 1108 games. 26. Jay Pandolfo - Was a defensive expert and finished as high as 3rd in Selke voting in 2006-07. Honourale Mention: Janne Niinimaa - Had a strong rookie season and continued to be a reliable defender for most of his 10-year career. Other mentions: German Titov, Kenny Jonsson, Alexander Daigle, Jamal Mayers, Shean Donovan, Jocelyn Thibault, Patrick Lalime

Tommy Salo of course more remembered for the '94 Olympic gold medal final shoot out save on Kariya Nice to see Salo ranked so highly. I never really knew much about the perception of Salo in NA.

Very underrated because the Isles nearly wrecked him. Excellent for the Utah Grizzlies and superb for Edmonton. Hated how his career ended after his marriage broke up.

I can’t remember another time feeling that much frustration watching sports that I did during that quarter final in the 2002 olympics. It was a bad goal by Salo, but the skaters we had should’ve won against Belarus blindfolded.

NHL 2004 is probably my favorite game of all time! I still play it every once in a while. But your totally right about how Daze sims in that game. Also on the flip side as a Wings fan. I always tried to Develop Datsyuk in that game but could never get him above a high 70’s low 80’s overall 3rd line guy 🤷‍♂️🤣

18:41 Todd Marchant shares a record with Gretzky! He scored three short-handed goals in a single postseason. Of course it's not just the 2 of them tied for that record, it's a 7 way tie with Derek Sanderson (1969), Tobias Rieder (2020), Wayne Presley (1989), Bill Barber (1980), Lorne Henning(also 1980), Marchant (1997), and Gretzky (1983).

Can't ever imagine Paul Kariya being drafted by another team then Anaheim Mighty Ducks. It was sad enough that he left the franchise after the 2002-2003 finals season for a poor season with the Colorado Avalanche + an even worse co-season for partner Teemu Selanne but more that he could not be a part of the Duck's 2007 Stanley Cup championship season.

Tommy Salo would've been better remembered if he hadn't run slap into a prime Dallas team in every one of his post seasons. He played well but the Oilers couldn't get past the Stars at all. (I guess they took the 97 loss really personally) 😉

Rob Niedermayer will always be remembered for his role on the 07 Ducks as the shutdown line with Moen and Pahlsson. As a Sens fan they were the bane of my existence that series.

Manny Legace made his NHL debut for the LA Kings in 1989-90 season. Then went to Detroit the following year for 6 years, then St Louis for 3 years and ended his career with a single year in Carolina.

Honestly, the more impressive thing about Alexandre Daigle is that he didn't play hockey for two full-seasons between 2000 and 2002 and managed to tie his career best 2 seasons later!

Ottawa was a bit of a train wreck the first few years, so it's a shame that Daigle got rushed into the NHL and wasn't allowed to develop his game more before making the jump to the NHL. He had great offensive skills, but really lacked any sense of defense. After his hiatus, he was a better two-way player. I liked Daigle, but feel he was majorly overrated by the scouts, which isn't his fault.

I actually forgot about Vinny Prospal. I didn't realize he played over 1,100 games too. I love that you took Jamie Langenbrunner at #12 for the Leafs. I would of liked to see him play in blue and white. Langenbrunner was a big reason I won my 2003 playoff hockey pool too because no one else took him except me and he had a great playoffs with 11 goals 7 assists.

Daze was another one that suffered injury problems. If not for back problems, you could have him in the top 10. I would have also put Bertuzzi ahead of Arnott and Tucker higher up as well. Allison was an amazing playmaker, but super slow. He is a tough one to rate.

Martin St. Louis was draft eligible in 1993 for the 1st time. Even though he wasn't drafted, je should always slot in the top 2 in this redraft TBF, in redrafts all available players should be considered, not just the ones who were drafted (which is very hard to do obviously).

Great list in my opinion but I would probably picked Langenbrunner at 8th ahead of Brunette, just feels like he added more value to his teams than the guys above him. Probably wouldn't have Legace and Witt in the first round ahead of Kozlov and Deadmarsh either. Shoutout to K.Jonsson as well, think he left the NHL cause he got homesick or something but he was a great defenseman on quite bad Isles teams, he would have belonged in the first round if he stuck around a bit longer.
