It'd be good to ask the owners what their various maintenance regimes have been from an interior perspective. When you reviewed the SK Forester you said the leather was hard, but mine is about the same age and mileage, and I manage to use upholstery protection every 3 to 6 months and it's still about the same as new, maybe a bit shinier, but still fairly soft. This with 190k, would be good to know, is it mainly a long haul cruiser, or a daily commuter, because what hurts the seat bolsters is entry and egress movements, more than necessarily being sat in, so if it's driving a few hundred ks at a time vs 10k, it can make a big difference.

I have an early 2016 Everest Limited (titanium) 3.2, the fist of this generation. I bought it with only 7000km on the clock in 2018. I just hit 50 000km a few weeks and have had no mechanical issues, and no rust issues. The only issue I have had is the tailgate issue, which was compounded by the tailgate being really poorly fitted from the factory. My vehicle is out of warranty so I'll have to have it repaired out of my own pocket. Other than that, this vehicle is exceptional. I have serviced the vehicle every year whether I have hit the distance interval or not, but this long list of problems doesn't exactly fill me with confidence for my next 50 000km though.

BMW X5 is a great SUV but make sure you service every 10,000 kms, not the long life intervals BMW say. Also, I'd be moving it on at no more than 160,000 kms.

Good job on reporting from Everest. It would have been even more impressive if you'd driven up there.

It seems your routine is to play tennis after every video is made. Good on you.
