Reminds me of the head button on the reedy vr-st, which I was quite fond of.

Still missing you man! I'm about to go into nitro more, I've raced a few times, but never taken it too seriously due to my love of driving ebuggy and now etruggy. RIP bro!

Thank you sir a lil new to the nitro game and this will be my first modded engine I’m thinking about the reds r5r
@shaunsmith84944 жыл бұрын
I really like your engine tear downs. I have a reds r5r which I got a few years ago from JQ. I haven't run it yet because my RB sls5v2 is still going strong. Might just run it in now and see how she goes.

I love watching these reviews. Is there any chance you could weigh the complete engine as part of the review?
@TheRwmods4 жыл бұрын
I thought about that as advertised weight isn't always right.

Has anyone recorded the base settings for the carb? For the lsn and hsn? Just want the settings it came out from the box. Will tune how it is needed after that. Thanks.

@TheRwmods3 жыл бұрын

I have been having trouble with my Reds R5R, it wont idle right and it wines really high. So I dont know if it tuning or i got unlucky and got a faulty engine. Do you have any ideas on how to fix it?
@zesprixx4 жыл бұрын
What do you mean by wines high, at idle or full throttle
@jdnic14 жыл бұрын
sounds like idle needle is set too high. or too lean mixture. start with rich settings and lean out a bit after break in. there is a good video around youtube, check out "Nitrorcx Guide: Fine Tuning your Nitro RC Car?

@@jdnic1 nvm I figured out the engine came with a cracked block. Thanks for the help though.

Better off with an alpha dragon v4
@TheRwmods3 жыл бұрын
I am a fan of both engines, why would you pick the Alpha over this?
@MrHazbobaz3 жыл бұрын
@@TheRwmods I believe reds machinery and fabrication is lacking behind on certain components, they might be using less sophisticated techniques with certain components, then outsourcing more sophisticated components from other vendors. On the other hand alpha is way more comfortable and happy. Their engines feel they made the way they are supposed to be without compromise. For example reds carb could've be on of those reds components that they did themselves. They are machined nicley yes!, but with limited resources it feels like. Likewise their ancient sleeve design.
@TheRwmods3 жыл бұрын
@@MrHazbobaz I do like the Sleeve on the Reds Scuderia and some other newer models.
@MrHazbobaz3 жыл бұрын
@@TheRwmods oh yes sir, when they acquire more of Nova, they will continue to impress and start becoming more vertically integrated. Rather that outsourcing.
