Thanks for another great video with helpful content. I’ve been fishing lakes for trout and to fish them properly you have to be open minded to using multiple types of lines from floating to sink tips. I’m experiencing with a SA Sonar parabolic line. It’s like a sinking line with a floating head and it allows you to really keep your flies in a water column like no other line. I’m still trying ti learn more about all of the fly lines you’ve talked about. Thanks!!!

Oh yes, I know that line. I didn't want to get too detailed on the full sink stuff, the RIO Clean Sweep is like that and a few others that have a ton of sink rates.

Hello, I am a beginner and would like to know if you attach all sink lines to the casting line? Or do you attach some sink lines to the backing? And is it always with a loop to loop that you attach them? How do you attach the tippet to the sink lines? Or is a tippet not necessary? Thank you very much!!!

Do you have a system for knowing what line is on your reels? I've seen putting dots and dashes on the line with a sharpie to denote the weight but nothing about sink or floating.

Oh that's a good question, I don't. That's a good idea, most of my lines are SA and have the line ID printed on them but it can be hard to read sometimes. I've used the stickers that come with the line, but it seems like I forget to change it when I swap a line then it's just more confusing. I need to get a label maker again.

Joe do you clean all your fly lines once a year, line care or a couple times a year, I clean my 3 reels at the start of the year with float protector

If I'm wading a lot, I'll use a RIO towelette every day if I think about it, usually I can clean a line and fold it back up and fold the package over and use the same line wipe about 3X. Wading makes my lines dirty as they get drug around in the muck, sand, and get stepped on.
