Hello Tidy Uppers! Thank you so much for being here today, I know we are getting into a busy time of the year! The holidays are wonderful, but they can become stressful if you’re not careful! Although it’s hard to eliminate all stress, in this video I share some ways that definitely can help reduce it and keep you organized! I hope you enjoy the video and are looking forward to the wonderful holiday season ahead! Much love to you all! 🤍

hello DeDe! Wonderful time savers ! You are a genius . I was a holiday prepper . I had lists & shopping spread out so I wasn't getting a ton extra at one time . But this year , hold on to your hat, I did my grocery pick up yesterday & didn't even think of anything for Turkey day 😮😮.So tomorrow we are going to get some holiday food . We don't do big dinners & don't go anywhere anymore :) but that's what happens when everything is up to one person & that person can't anymore I guess. I love hearing how you do things . I borrow trouble too LOL Thank you for sharing to help everyone reduce their stress 🥰🥰 That is the BEST gift ! Happy Thanksgiving & may it be blessed from start to finish & after ( & before ) . Love , hugs & prayers for a safe & happy holiday season !

Oh my!!! I finally made it here. I must have missed your q and a for the stress video. It was a good video, I enjoyed it. Thank you for sharing. One thing we have been implementing in our house when it comes to gift giving is that we do acts of service for each other. That way we are not stressed out on what to give each other. We stopped exchanging gifts a while back. Now we might participate in white elephant game, but doing personal gifts, we just show up for our friends in need too.

That’s wonderful, Karen! That is the true meaning of Christmas. Giving the gift of yourself and your time is the most precious thing you can give! Thank you for watching and thank you so much for sharing what you do in your family! I hope you’re having a great weekend!

A very good reminder to put things in perspective. We host a large organized potluck Thanksgiving meal and I also save all the takeout containers and everyone knows to find the one they want to use. So easy! I have decided that if guests choose to criticize (no one has that I am aware of), then I will gladly go to their home next!

Hello Irene! That is right, those that might complain should write themselves down to host the following year!! 🤣🤣 thanks so much for watching and taking the time to share! 🤍

Thank you, DeDe! I SO needed to be reminded of all these things. Small steps will add up to a less stressful holiday! I have started my list and purchased some gifts and I have gotten some ingredients for family favorites so I can be sure to have them. It REALLY does help to plan whatever you can ahead. The foil cookie sheet trick is genius and I am definitely going to put a cookie sheet in the bottom of my oven. I have put foil in the past but it stuck - I must have missed some sticky gunk cleaning. The cookie sheet will solve that problem. The wrapping headquarters is a great idea! In the past, I have used an over the door shoe holder to store all the wrapping needs - bows, tape etc. I don’t use that anymore but I do have a small plastic tray that the scissors, tape, pen and tags MUST stay in. I’m a messy wrapper and I’ll just set something down and then I can’t find it! I wrap presents in our office so that tray stays on the side of the desk at all times. Nothing more frustrating than searching for something you just had. Thanks, too, for the encouragement. It’s the memories that are being made and time spent together that really matter. I am thankful for you, friend! Happy Thanksgiving!

I am right there with you friend! I made this video to help. Remind myself all of these things as well! I just want to give everyone a perfect holiday when really I need to be focusing on giving them the best version of myself. You know, the kind and nice one and not the lunatic one!! An over the door shoe holder is a great area to keep all your supplies! I know some people just keep them in a flat Rubbermaid tote under their bed. Some people have them hanging up. I think you just have to do what works for you! I just think it’s helpful if you have them all together that’s for sure! I am so thankful for you too ! I just know if we were in the same town we would be going to lunch and having lots of laughs together! Here’s wishing you a memorable Thanksgiving!

I know that so many people have so much stress this time of year. So much to do, think about, and keep up with. My heart really goes out to those who host and put their heart and souls in what they do, going the extra mile to make for a festive, meaningful, and memorable holiday season. Although my holidays don't include very much of what you covered in this video, it has helped me to think about some things in a new way. I hope that you are able to receive as much as you give this holiday season. Bright blessings to you!

Oh my goodness, Matt what a beautiful heartfelt comment. I agree with you completely! I learned so much by all the messages I received. There was so much folks worried about that I hadn’t even thought about. I think we all kind of tend to be in our own bubble. It definitely gave me a lot to think about as well. Thank you so much for watching and adjusting your schedule with my time change!

Great video to get prepared for the festive period - no Thanksgiving in the UK. We decided to make Christmas just for the children so we don’t give adult presents. So less stress and our joy is watching the little ones open their gifts. Enjoy your Thanksgiving ❤

Thank you Sondra! That is so nice of you! It’s a little bit scary to do different kind of videos because I don’t know how well people will like them. I thought if it could help just one or two people enjoy their holidays more it would be worth it. 🩷

@MyBigTidyUp ...Thank you so much! UPDATE TIME : 🙂 You certainly covered so much ground here, Miss Dede ...from Baking...to Cleaning..Dishes .. Gifts... Stressors....- and more - you addressed a lot of issues that are experienced during this time of Year ,and it was done so well ! ( And of course, keeping humour in the mix ,always a " good thing " . ). I agree with getting a few " Deep Cleaning Chores " out of the way, then just " maintain " as needed and do not worry about " perfection " ... this is so wise , as is your Wise Words in regards to " Comparison " and thinking that " something is not enough "- whether it's food, gifts, whatever it may be - does steal Joy and internal Happiness. ..thank you for including this in the Video. As I've mentioned to you , I took a lot of focus off of the Gifts and such, at Christmas...we did for others, while still having a small, easy Christmas at our home ,and our Family Christmas was on January 1st. All the tips you provided help make the Holiday Seadon easier, and creates less opportunities " for stress to show up "...Especially doing so much of the Cooking Prep Work ahead of time . I always did as much " cooking ahead of time " as I could, so minimal cooking was done on January 1st, since I did not cook for Christmas Supper ...we always made Reservations for that ,lol. This Video was well- thought out, such important and practical ways to E n j o y the Holiday Season ahead.... and not just " manage to get through it all " . Thank you sweet friend for being a Blessing to me,and your Community Family ! ✨️🙂😊🍽 🥂 🎄🎁 🤍

This is for Thanksgiving but overall same concepts for Christmas. I clean the Saturday before. I shop the Sunday before. I do one thing minimum to prep each evening leading up to the big day. I only ask people to just bring themselves because I’ve had people running late or not show that we’re to bring parts of the meal. I’ve stopped having so many appetizers and desserts as the focus is the main meal and I’m fine with simple or store bought items. I ask people to come only 2 hours prior to the meal and welcome them to stay longer after if they want. For Christmas specifically, I shop starting after October for gift ideas and do most of it online.

I don't need this any more, but if you make a casserole, make 2, then when you're busy shopping or baking, just pull out a meal and save yourself the stress of cooking dinner. You can also freeze parts of meals like spaghetti sauce, taco meat, or frozen veggies for stir fry.
@MyBigTidyUp2 ай бұрын
Yes! Making two casseroles and saving one for later is a wonderful idea! I wish I would’ve shared that! Thank you so much for the reminder! I freeze a lot of prepared taco meat! I love taco meat! Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to share Karen!
