Good job on getting the larger spalls without waist. A hammer stone may have split the remainder into two large spalls. Tricky, but it can be done. With the correct platform and delivering a quick strike and then pulling the hammerstone back the energy will travel thru it quickly with a complete clean break. However, you ended up with two great spalls. Do you knapp with organic materials. (Bone ,stone, antler, wood, horn, ivory etc.?) Could you do a demo as such? Thanks.

I actually just gave my antler and wood collection to a new knapper solely using abo tools, but I do have some stone I could use for a video! Will see about doing that sometime soon.

How’s that?
@jimajello10282 жыл бұрын
He probably wants you to do it abo? There is modern & traditional Lithic industries. Two very different routes one can take. No problem. However, if one is looking for learning or researching pre neolithic approaches to Lithic Technology you need to search out traditional demos and instructional videos.

@@jimajello1028 I agree, it’s possible that’s what he meant. Or maybe it was a joke, not sure. I’ve used abo tools for years, just didn’t use them in this video.
