The final print, mounted and framed sympathetically, in my humble opinion could hang side by side with a Van Gough and barring the difference in appraisal value receive equal critical acclaim….bravo!!

I mean for starters how the hell do you manage to line them up sooooooooooo perfectly let alone carve such intricate layers so many times over and I mean your colour choices and how you get them to balance each other out with warm & cool tones is insane, honestly breathtaking
@oli08087 ай бұрын
It's reduction linocut, so it's all done on one piece of lino, she will remove more lino for each layer. For example, once she's done that yellow layer she will carve out more lino and do the next colour, she can never do the yellow layer again.

I did some linocuts myself, but this is stunning! Especially the multiple layers of different colors never worked for me that well. This motovates me to try again!

Hi, your work is absolutely breathtaking and all colors are so vivid and amazing, truly remarkable! I have a question - how do you manage to fit each layer so perfectly? Do you have any tools that help you? From personal experience - this is probably one of the most complicated things in the graphic technique.
3 ай бұрын
You need to make a "frame" guide around the block and leave it static for the whole process.

That is beautiful!!! But I don't quite understand reduction prints and how they are made.
@dshe863711 ай бұрын
The lino is cut and a print made. In this case it was the yellow. More lino is cut away each time, so that different layers show through. It's complicated, because you have to plan carefully. Once cut, there's no going back. You have to print e ough of the first layers to allow for any mistakes later on!
