Yan, in the case of Reece James, we can’t really look at him in pure footballing terms. He and his sister at the same club as a brand is huge to the club. If you break that up, the club takes a financial hit in many other areas. In a crass way of looking at it, Conner Gallagher had to go to protect Reece James. Big Picture!!! Perhaps you have to be American to understand the power of having siblings at the same parent Club. Perhaps it’s like the Nielsen sisters in Track and Field in the UK a bit? So long as he is not a lost cause, the Club has no long term interest or reason to make a snap decision because of short term squad needs. He and Cole Palmer are the most valuable assets at the club.
