Thanks for posting the Anthias data, I've been on the fence about getting some. I just fell off the fence, way to much work for me, and I'm retired. Shame really, they are so beautiful. Thanks.

There are easier anthias species for sure!

Love my Great White - an older AC and it's just awesome - I wanted a solid skimmer that just works and won't break easily - so far so good.

I would try carbon dosing - like I use Tropic Marin Bacto balance and use about 0.2ml in my Red Sea Reefer every couple of days. I don't think it's necessarily better than the Pax Bellum but I think it's more controllable and therefore good to use in addition.

I might try carbon dosing if it doesn’t resolve on its own. We’ll see!

I wonder if a automatic water changer could replace a calcium reactor

Maybe. You could certainly set this one up to exchange whatever fluids you like. You can set the amount to exchange in ml.

Are you still dosing vodka? Maybe that’s the reason for the cyano outbreak.

I’m not still dosing vodka, but that’s a good idea. I think just the combination of more food and GFO lead to a big imbalance and the GFO stripping the phosphate meant algae couldn’t grow to use the nutrients- so cyano did instead.

Good luck with your tank!

Thanks!! It’s coming along. Once the cyano dies back hopefully the Acropora will do better!
