From my v brief playing with the lubadh, seems like there is a lot of mileage in using lubadh as a granular effect- set ‘length’ to v short, ‘retrig’ as a random trigger at high speed, then ‘start’ similarly by a random short trigger, i think you can change the tightness and ‘spray’ of the grains by the voltage variation of the momentary cv going into ‘start’. Not sure, need to play with it more

I had the same issue of not being able to tell which preset was loaded. It seemed to be stuck on a preset. So I ended up going back to V1! Now I at least know what I am doing - most of the time.

I also reverted back to V1 to be honest. The classic version does exactly what I bought Lubadh for.

This is a great help. I got the update pack yesterday, and unfortunatly I didnt see this until today. And since the manual pamflet that follows the pack is so "detailed", I had to try several times before I understood that I was not supposed to hold the button combos when loading the samples :D This would have helped :)

Now I'm sure I'm not going to buy Lubahd. I honestly admire Instruo, this module and people who can use it, and it's tempting, but I know enough about my self to know that this is to complex for me.

To be honest, I am keeping version 1 close

Paired with the right modules you can use it as whatever you want. But I kinda get what you’re saying. It’s seems like it’s a lot of work, but it’s not too difficult one you get the hang of it. Right now I have mine in sequencing mono, and I’m just loving being able to play my own samples with glide, adding some expression to otherwise “lifeless” sound. And I have no other module who can handle stereo polyphony, so in my current system it’s incredibly useful.

Great to see you getting to grips with this new firmware, and with some lovely results. I've been struggling with the complexity of it all, though fundamentally it remains at the heart if most of what I do, and is my go to module for happy accidents and finding sweet spots. I'm curious to know if you managed to resolve the noise that you attributed to a ground loop in one of your earlier videos (we had a brief chat in the comments a few months back)? The new firmware seems to have fixed the pulsating noise that was previously there, but is now replaced by steady, albeit less noticeable, hum. I was hoping a Trogotronic M05 Silencer would do the trick (it's worked for others), but sadly, no change. Some have suggested replacing my Meanwell power brick with a Volgen, so that'll be my next step. Looking forward to the next episode!

My current 'solution' is to record as loud as I can with the risk of clipping. When I record, I see the noise in my DAW, but I don't hear it. I've also been struggling with Lubadh and I never really learned V1. This video's been the first time I ever used the crossfaders 'because I work in stereo', unaware it pans between decks too. When I started patching with V2 without reading anything I got amazing results. My challenges started with load/save and presets. Before that, I just recorded audio from my BitBox. I still need to figure out if I need the variable speed recording, I think I'd prefer fixed speed for modular to create these ultra slow textures. Recording over ultra slow running tape would just record 'in pitch' and speeding it up would lead to a chipmunk take. I also miss the V1's built in echo (blinking amber). Episode 04 may be about presets, but Episode 05 may be back on V1.

Thanks for the reply. Like you, version 1 didn’t get my full attention so I’m happy to treat it as an entirely new module now. I’m almost playing it safe, concentrating on the one preset, Classic, while I bring myself up to speed with the new controls before I deal with those ‘variables’ you mention. My memory retains as much info as a disintegrating tape reel itself these days. 🙂 I wonder, was the old ‘echo’ mode from v1 called Tape Decay mode? And, if so, is that not the same as the Dub Level time mode (solid amber), i.e. setting the degree of decay with the time pot when recording into the corresponding deck from the other? I’m probably confusing two different modes, but just in case. One thing I noticed was was a bit of drifting between reels when recording from the left reel to the right (using the clock output to trigger recording) and, say, reversing that reel to ‘meet’ at certain points. I can hit a sweet crossover spot but it’s gone after a few cycles. It might be me, of course, but I'd love to get both reels perfectly in time. But despite the noise and a few puzzling quirks I've yet to figure out, I do love it. If I give it my time, it always gives back. nb. thanks for the note on the capacitive touch feature being disabled-I thought something was amiss!

Thanks for Your Work, a Lot. and I have a fev questions: 1. Where I miss 2nd video of Instruo - Playlist. 2. Have You any suggestions for Lubadh in VCV-Rack. May be something from VoxGlitch library, or so. ..may be You know...

The playlist is at the top of the video (a link) and the second episode is called 'grand theft audio'. I don't know VCV Rack at all, so maybe it's best to ask Omri Cohen. He'll know.

OK, bottom line of this story. My Lubadh is back to version 1 permanently and it's perfect for me. Super simple to use. Just record and play.
