I'm American, but when I hear this song I feel like I was born Australian. It's strange the way this song affects me so deeply. Wish I could sing it in a pub with some Aussies someday! What a great great song.

Come to Oberon NSW and sing it in the same pub as the original video. Nothing much changes there (as it says in the video).

I went to funeral today. This song was played, the most true, honest, and real song that could be played today. RIP Garry Carpenter. The celebrant said; one of the greatest accolades an Australian man can ever achieve is to be called a "Good Bloke", Carpo, you were that and so much more. One of those unsung bastions of strength, courage, resolve.... that makes a world a better place.

One of the most "infectious" songs I've ever heard in my 76 years! So bitter and so sweet...

Such a gorgeous song. Always gives me goosebumps. Pure vision of nostalgic Australiana and a potentially a vision of a bygone era. Beaut’ of a song in this great country that I’m blessed to now call home.

3months ago, I was working in a Bakery in Weipa, Far North Queensland, Australia, and this song played on the job. One of my goals was to play this very song but on a JBL, in New Zealand, and here I am. I manifested it, and this song will always be a reminder 🔥 Rotorua, New Zealand, on a JBLPartybox310. Stoned as. 2024 🥳

G'day from Newcastle Australia 🇦🇺, I'm seeing cold chisel in my home town for the first time in a month. I've seen Jimmy on his own about 4 times but this night will be iconic in my history to be able to see the whole band ❤.
